Weight is weight. It doesn't matter if it's a plasma or LCD TV. Get a wall mount that is rated for the proper amount of weight, secure it to your wall properly (e.g. in studs), and attach the TV to the mount properly, and you'll be fine.

Do it right, or hire someone to and you won't have any problems.

My Plasma hangs not only on the wall, but about a foot and half out from the wall. Perfectly fine.

What does that have to do with getting a wall mount that is properly rated for the TV and following the installation directions to the correctly?

Just curious - what is the "no" an answer to? Sorry that your local audio dude is a tool, btw. You should be able to easily find a mount online that will meet your needs.

Monoprice.com ships to Australia. They have good prices on wall mounts, but I don't know what the shipping charges are.
All is good there shipping prices are really good:D

Hit the studs center with lags, no sleeves. I pre-drill mine. If you can't hit the studs, you'll have to use a backer board which means cutting the wall, more work but doable.
