great. i was in bliss before the PC12NSD came by.

granted, the SB13 was way better for music, but the PC12NSD really shook the couch.

i don't have much space though, if you look at the pic, the SB13 is around 17.4" wide ... a PB13 is about 20.5", but also 10" deeper. that would severely cramp the path.
but the Oak just looks so nice with my floor.

option 1: Oak Pb13Ultra ...
pros: nice
cons: 2 month waiting time, ginormous

option 2: PC12NSD ...
pros: cheap, it's still downstairs
cons: ugly

option 3: PC13Ultra ...
pros: same footprint, ultimate in couch shaking
cons: taller ugly

Just a thought...

I think she wants dual Ultras but Mike has different sensibilities.

ok, wife said this:

1) as much as possible she doesn't want the curtain moved
2) if i would stack the box subs ... the acoustic panel above the SB13 has to go
3) she has no complaints against the cylinder

i still think it looks ugly but damn, do i miss the ultra.

midbass slam? check.
lowbass couch shaking? check!

here's an overall pic so you can see the space i have to work with ...

they're not playing the same frequencies btw ...
the LFE goes into the ported ultra, the ultra low passes itself 40hz
the output from the ultra (configurable!) is high passed at 40hz and is given to the SB13
it's just experimental, but i figure i should overlap that or mess with the slopes

that's now the PC13. since all the cylinders have the same footprint anyway, didn't make sense to not go all out :)

this is actually tame if you've seen my previous setups :D

new NMT (HD player)

brand is the mede8er
I know this is old, but, it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one with a stack of external drives lol. Mine is ridiculous.

Nice equipment Mike but isn't the bedroom reserved for other activities?

Never mind, I'm just an old dude who doesn't understand youngsters.:p
Another old bump, but, I'm an audio fiend and I agree - I don't like anything except for a little two channel setup in my bedroom (which actually now I don't even have, even though I have the speakers lol). And no way would I put a TV in my bedroom, I simply don't like electronics there. But, I know the majority are just the opposite.

How loud do you listen in your bedroom? Might be better off just having one subwoofer and then get a cabinet with a door for the equipement (with fans, obviously).

I think your room would look nicest with the TV mounted on the wall, one subwoofer, the speakers on stands and an equipment rack to the side opposite the corner. This would make for more space and look very clean.

there are now more hard drives there :)

this used to be my "simplest system" ... just 2.1 ... but i noticed that i do 99% of my watching here, so might as well go all out.

i did have just one, but such is the subwoofer compromise for single subs ... i also spent a good amount of money on that tv stand (if you look at the first page, you'll see i did not plan on putting this much stuff or gear here. but if i could get rid of the stand, i could place floorstanders and more subs up front :D

the wall to the back of the tv stand is dry wall, i'm too lazy/don't have the capability to look for the studs ... i could also completely get rid of the AV rack on the left and migrate them to the tv stand ... but those shelves are full of junk food :D

Can't find the studs? Get a stud finder, they are cheap! It's really it's going to solve a lot. And while you mounted it, it would be easy to run a cable down the wall for power and HDMI. If you're not up for it, what's it cost in your area to hire someone?

That would free up your space up front for floorstanders and subs.

Nice and clean. ;)

I find you can get away with more gear the less extra clutter is around it.
