Power Supplies aren't normally too expensive. The labor is probably the most challenging part though if you open up your NAD and take some pictures maybe we can see how complicated it could be. ;)

Actually, I'm just going to drop it off at the shop and have them sort it out. No matter what the problem is, I'm not going to fix it. I'm very comfortable with woodwork and mechanical stuff. I just don't have the same degree of confidence with electronics. I was actually nervous adding RAM to my PC.:eek::rolleyes:

I really do appreciate the offer of help though. Thanks very much.:)

Well I was thinking we could see how much the cost might be, but I understand being scared of computers and electronics. A healthy dose of fear makes for a good repair man though. ;) But a good reputable repairman is a better choice for the novice.

well, I dropped it off and the guy said he should be able to take a look at it before the weekend. If it doesn't need parts, I should have it back before Christmas. :) If it does need parts, I won't get it back before January.:( Right now, Christmas music in the living room is coming from a laptop and a pair of computer speakers....sigh....

I seriously doubt the power supply caps need anything and they don't cause this kind of distortion.

I'm guessing that it could be an op-amp, drivers or pre-drivers (if the power amp is all discreet). Either way, it shouldn't be too expensive unless the parts are proprietary, which is always a mistake with consumer electronics when out of warranty repairs are needed.

Now see that is why I believe in having 2 systems - one to back up the other one.

I think I better get a second projector to back up my first projector.:eek:

I actually do have a second system - the HT is in the basement rec room. But, I'm not about to start wiring up a zone 2 upstairs.

And yes, you do need a second projector.;)

I just placed a projector in my Amazon cart. Will probably go through the check out tomorrow. :eek::D

My projector was retail @ $3500. I paid $2200 about a year ago and thought that was a good price. Now they are on sale for $1379.99.

Since I need a back up, I just bought it. Will arrive next Tuesday.:eek:

Tuesday?! Did you subject it to Super Saver shipping? :p Amazon Prime is where it's at. :D Unless it was a third party seller...

You might get lucky, though. Sometimes they get stuff to destinations ahead of schedule around the holidays.
