After several months of exhaustive research on subwoofers, I finally made a decision.

But before I made a purchase I decided to travel to the facility and examine their shop and team.

SVS's facility is located in northern Ohio. I was very impressed a clean facility with lots of room. The team's pride in their product was very evident. I was able to watch a quality check of 20 subs getting ready for shipment. They were checking for leaks and abnormalities in performance..really moving each sub through a wide range of frequencies.

The operations manager also provided an excellent demonstration in their theater...I was blown away. SVS specializes in subs but they also manufacture a full line of speakers....not bad at all. But the bass was simply impressive. So I purchased one.

Most important to note THIS IS A BIG SUB! Be prepared to sacrifice some space. But it is well worth it. This sub truly goes subsonic it can rattle pictures off the wall while you can barely hear it. I was looking for a sub that went well under 20Hz and it clearly does it well.

It has a great menu of tweaks that is easy to operate. The sub also comes with foam plugs to tune the sub to the desired frequency including completing sealing the ports. This is an outstanding sub the really performs..I cant say enough great things about it. The cabinet, the wood, the grill (magnetic), the tweaks this sub has it all (except a remote).

If you have the money and the space BUY ONE you wont regret it.

No hello, no noob questions. I don't think the current crew at SVS would stoop to shrill marketing but damn does this post stink.

Yeah. I'm sure this guy doesn't work for SVS or whatever, but posting like this is definitely garbage. It's totally fine to be very happy with your purchase and to let people know, but when your first post reads like a cheap advertisement, that's not cool.

Post pad here, http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/site-suggestions-feedback/49318-post-pad-thread-new-users-not-spammers.html

and then add pics or it did not happen :D.

As an afterthought, wouldn't SVS use the PB-13 Ultra in their demo room?

I don't believe this person is a shill. I am in constant contact with the folks at SVS, most notably Ed Mullen and they are all stand up people. SVS is not the same company it was 5-6 years ago IMO. Seems to me this is an over enthusiastic buyer that just happened to discover our forum, likely b/c someone at SVS told them about our reviews.

To Biovision, welcome to our forums and please post some pics of your system to share with fellow readers.

This is a real SVS customer who visited our showroom and purchased a PB12-Plus. We built-up a few finishes for him, and he chose his favorite and walked out with it.

We do appreciate word-of-mouth recommendations and referrals because that's how our business grows. With that said, no one at SVS asked him to make this post, and he is not a shill or viral marketer. I proved this to Gene privately - case closed. This was simply an unsolicited post by a satisifed SVS owner; please give him the benefit of the doubt and welcome him to AH forums. Thx.

I doubt a company needs a shill marketer for a sub that was named 2010 AH product of the year

Thank you for the clarification. Like I said, I never thought he was asked by SVS to make the post. I am of course happy for the new owner - I too would love to have a PB12-Plus or several other SVS models. It's just that when your first post reads like an ad, it looks shady. With that being said, congratulations to the new sub owner, and welcome to to forums. Hopefully you stick around and can share your experiences with other users :)

Be welcome to the AH forum Biovison!

Sure you'll have a lot of fun with your brand new toy, no doubt about it!
Mine is an old PB-10 ISD, which I believe, doesn't even come close to yours, but, in my room so far, so pretty darn good, though :)

Now that you've got one, it's time to start saving up for a second in order to help improve your mid bass response and sweet spot in room. From 40hz to ~120hz or so, the more subs you have the better. Above that point you probably need bass trapping.

Well that's a seriously happy customer. I'm sure everyone can see why we were highly skeptical.

Glad you guys are playing well together.:p
While I couldn't dispute AH's position back when, I was very dishearted by the break-up.

Admittedly I was a little annoyed by the negative comments (shill...garbage post etc). I'm new to the forum and I will read the suggested threads regarding posting, but I can't understand what I said that would encourage these kinds of replies.

Anyways...hopefully you like the pics and the vid of some serious movement by the PB12 plus.

As for my system
Denon AVR 3311CI
Fronts ESS AMT (heil driver and 12" woofers 465 watts nominal)
Center Klipsch
Rears Paradigm ADP 390
Sub SVS PB-12 Plus
Video Panasonic 50" G level
Source (personally custom built PC Core I7 liquid cooled with dual video cards)

I spare details regarding the PC because I know this isn't a computer forum.

I dare say but comments???

The site has never been plagued by spam, but there has been an annoying rash of late. To build on that, your very first post here reeked of trollness... And, if there is anything that gets this forum riled up are trolls and shills peddling snake oil.

All that said, this is a one of the few forums with mature discussion and respect for opinions that are based on fact. No "subjective" flaming on the lines of "my speaker is better than yours, I'd show you but I'd have to charge...".

Consider it your induction by fire! As a SVS owner you just gained lifetime membership to the Audioholics Anonymous club :D.

I wonder what will happen if you play the Darla "Tap" scene with the kitty so close to the ports LOL!!!! I am evil!
