May I say Something?

This situation with vinyl is well and good, but how about decent cartridges that do not cost an arm and a leg? When vinyl was in the drivers seat, finding a good cheap cartridge was no sweat.

What is your budget for a cartridge?

Seriously, I have no life.
Comfortably below $100. It's for an old technics SL-D1.
In the under $50 dollar range, this Audio-Technica cartridge is by far the best value around.

If you are prepared to spend a bit more, then this Shure cartridge is a best buy. You have to go over $500 to best this one.

You can get a good cartridge in your price range.

To best the two I have selected you need to go into The $500 to $1000 range.

O.K. I remember these now. The AT95e replaced the AT11e from the 70s. And the original M97HE came out in the early 80s. I might lean toward the Audio Technica.

Hey 3db

Louis Armstrong "I'm begiining to See The Light
^^ That sounds interesting. ^^

I've got some big band and swing that I hang onto because I like having it bit's not really my bag. Today I was up at Harvard Square for work and I picked up John Lee Hooker Healer. I paid $10. I think I'm in love with this album.

I think this is about my favorite tune but everything else is excellent.

The title track is awesome as well. Then side B is just more awesomeosity. Based on how much I like this I think every body needs to get it. For sure I am getting this in CD too but having it on vinyl has seriously bonded me to the record player. JLH did this album with a bunch of other artists.

It's awesome. :)

I know the album very well. Its a great album and love it as well. Today I picked up this blues album...

New King of Blues Harmonica - Little Sonny | AllMusic for $8.00.

After the laundry and vacumming gets done, I'll be kicking back with a pint or two and mellowing out.

BTW, I'm not a big band fan either but I didn't have anything in this genre so I bought it just to say I have it. Some works I reallty like but those are far and few between.

DJ Shadow just released some new material in multiple formats, including vinyl.

The new album is called "The less you know, the better" and I've heard a few tracks so far, seems pretty good.

I bought "Entroducing..." on vinyl and his (DJ Shadow's) music seems to suit the format! :D
