great looking system. did you buy the stands the sub(s) sit on or build your own? and could you describe the difference raising the sub off the floor makes? i've never tried it. thanks.

Thanks indcrimdefense. The stands are from the stands that the blu ray players were held in. I moved the players in the server rack and the denon players in the back shelf.

. I just tried it that way I noticed quite a few members has the fathoms raised and I have to admit Im quite impressed with the outcome. I run my 3 subs as one.

Thanks Patrukas777. The family does enjoy it. Its definitley a treat for the kids as they go in once a week. We do the whole popcorn bit and the kids enjoy it more than they do than the cinema. The only flaw is me when I get told to shut up when I comment on the AQ and PQ

i have noticed that raising a sub off the floor reduces vertical differences in bass response, for instance in many rooms, especially with ceilings that are 8' or less, the bass output seems much stronger when standing versus sitting. i'm not speaking for him, i'm just saying what i have noticed myself.

I was going to ask for advice and opinion is it worth raising my front two speakers? The tweeter will just meet the bottom bit of the screen(white bit). Unfortunately the centre cannot be raised. Personally I dont think it will work.

stupid question, does it matter what i use to raise the sub, and does distance from the floor make a difference? since i moved i have 2 amplifier stands (commonly known as end tables) not in use, that are 14" high, one of which has a solid 2" wood top, the other has a center cutout which i removed the metal bottom for additional cooling, as the amplifier was wide enough to sit over the center cutout. the sub is not wide enough and would actually sit down in the center cutout on the metal almost 2 inches down. all of which sounds like a bad idea. the solid wood top end table is 2 inches thick, 21 x 21 x 14, heavy and sturdy as hell, so not really worried about vibrations. as the stand is larger than the footprint of the sub, how far back should the front of the sub sit from the edge of the table, flush, a few inches or does it make a difference?

Not really as long as it can handle the weight there should not be a problem.

Thank you Seth im quite happy with the shots. I have an old canon 350D digital SLR and I finally asked a client camera friend of mine why my shots came out rubbish and he gave me some tips. I was actually quite lucky.
