Aren't the Girls decimated at OL with injuries? Kinda hard to rush when there aren't any holes to run through. Just ask LT. :D

Haven't been following their training camp stories (personally I hope the whole team gets syphillus and can't play this season :D), however the question asked specifically about running back tandem. I happen to think that tandem could be very strong.

yeah line is the anchor of the team. Though there have been talks of trading Barber to the Chargers for a lineman. I think Darien would blow a gasket if the Chargers gave up a good lineman for a RB.

An implied admission of inferiority I see. Do the Giants really look incapable of beating the Cowboys at full strength? I'm seeing a monster year for Eli if he can get and stay healthy. They have an easier schedule than the Boys and Eagles do for sure.

If Eli has a monster year it's because the running game is down (due to injuries at RB or the OL), or because the defense is terrible and we're down by a lot early- either way his stats will be way up b/c he has to throw a ton.

I don't know much about schedules comparatively, but I'm not optimistic about our early games if our defense isn't up to par. Opening against Carolina, Indy, and Tennessee is no bargain, plus we have to play on the road against Minny and GB (in December no less). And of course there are never easy games in the NFC East/ Not to be a downer, but just by the schedule alone I see a record of somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7. If everything falls into place 10 wins are possible, but I just don't see us making the playoffs this year.

P.S. I'd love to have the above paragraph rubbed in my face at year-end if we do end up kicking *** :D.

I see this same prediction from every NFC East fan with a clue 9-7. I think our division is pretty much stacked and it could fall almost any direction. I'm very concerned about the Redskins too. They finally have a great coach and a QB who has the potential to make playoff runs. He may not win the Super Bowl, but his teams have rarely missed the Playoffs. Kolb has a lot of potential and if he were to get hurt I'd be even more scared of what Vick could do with Reid in his ear. The Cowboys are the media favorites, but if the line isn't healthy it will be a tough year.

I just put a seasoned pork roast into the crock pot, a twelve pack of Stella is in the mini cooler on Ice since last night, plus it went down to 50 something
degrees last night so that beer is chillin.
I hung the 3 x 5 Eagles Flag out, I almost got the HT update finished in time for the games but just didn't get er done in time , but that's another thread .
I hope you guys are as pumped as I am for this season to officially begin, I know Thursday was the start but that was just PR money grabbing Brett Favre crap, the real season starts today in my eyes :D

I hope the Birds have something for The Pack GO EAGLES.

E A G L E S > EEEAAGULLZZZZ, woo hoo baby bring on the games.:D:D:D

I'm excited to see what Kolb can do. I'm looking for steady improvement and real leadership from him.

I hear that, I too am very optimistic about this whole new era in Eagles Football, I think that K Kolb will be O.K. and a more than adequate, above average QB, but people just need to be patient, something Philly Phans can't grasp. I feel bad for him and the rest of the new comers drawing an explosive Green Bay Team for Game one but hey it looks like it might be a good old fashioned mud fest :D

My favorite day of the year! :)
Obviously mine too, I have been staring at a cold blank flat panel for three plus hours already, not turning on till 11 for pre game stuff, lol.Foods a cooking and the beers a chilling, it's pouring down rain right now too, real football like stuff.

The Giants need to learn to not tip the ball in the air for the other team. Poor Eli has INTs caused by his own receivers.

It was a depressing first week for my teams but at least it ended on a good note watching a defunct Dallas Cowboys team. The coaching and mental mistakes by the Cowboys today reminded me of the tenure of Wade Phillips when the Buffalo Bills actually had some talent. A Wade Phillips coached team has that tendency of players making mental mistakes which end up being costly. On a positive note Miles Austin seems to be the real deal.

I need to find some solace to forget how pathetic the Buffalo Bills organization is. :D

Seriously!!! I would love for a new stat to be added called "Interceptions that were in no way the fault of the QB". Eli went 20-30 yesterday- of his 10 incompletions 3 were picks that were all perfectly thrown balls that bounced off his receivers hands, and there were at least 2 more balls that were perfectly thrown that were drops as well. I was thrilled with how well he played yesterday- we need the WRs to get in under control!

Obviously a tough day for you, but you gotta love how well Vick played when he came in. He looked downright scary out there, made mostly good decisions, and he was FAST! The one bad decision he made (throwing instead of running on 3rd and Goal) came b/c as he said after the game "I didn't want to be selfish"- for your sake I hope Andy Reid tells him to be more selfish.

As for Andy Reid, he continues to cement his legacy as one the WORST clock manager in the entire history of the game, and as a terrible playcaller in the 2 minute drill.

So, I DVR’d the Washington Dallas game. Watching it this morning, Dallas down by 6, 27 ticks left on the clock, Dallas driving, Romo had just had two passes in a row dropped by the DEFENCE, then, BAM! The DVR asked if I wanted to delete this now or later. WTF?! Who won?

Washington 13 - Dallas 7

Dallas was at the 13 yard line with 3 seconds left. Romo threw a pass that was caught in the end zone, but offensive holding nullified the score.

Thanks. Tough break at the end huh?
I had a feeling that Washington would be tough this season. We'll see if they can keep it up. Both teams have room to improve.

The Giants looked good and bad yesterday. The Panthers looked worse though. Eli looked a lot better than in preseason. If only the receivers would stop tipping the balls in the air.

Tough break only for Dallas fans :D.

Both teams had good defense. The Redskins defense won the game. McNabb looked kinda rusty, 15 completions out of 32 passes for 171 yards. The Washington O line is still a work-in-progress, and they had very little effective running game. The Dallas offense didn't look any better. 12 penalties, including several critical offensive holding calls hurt them. Just the same, beating Dallas in the 1st game - I'll take it. Last year, the Skins lost all 6 division games (plus 6 others).

I still think the Giants and Dallas are the teams to beat in the NFC East, with the edge going to NY. Washington will do good if they win 8 games.
