Nice! Now I'm waiting on a review.:)
I should probably start a new thread or change this name as this will not be placed into service until,:(, until,:(, I completely revamp my front wall where all of the HT equipment will reside, I will take some pics to show you what I mean, and then I will start. I guess that place called Mantown really made me stop and think about what I needed to pay more attention to in my own HT, so first some major mods to the HT then the SC27 will be called upon to show me its worth and I will then try my darndest to scrape together a review of sorts,:)

Sounds like a plan. So get to work!:D
Already started , I moved everything out of the way, except for the plasma, Phillies are on tonite :D.
Kappas are moved, speakers are in the bedroom, all previous equipment is boxed up in the original packages and put away and I already put the SC27 back in its boxes for safe keeping, good thing I bought the extra side speakers for the 500M or we be watching silent mode, lol.

I am going to make the kewlest mount for the plasma that I can come up with , any one can mount on the wall I need something some what different It will begin now, sawz

Mods- can I change the name of this thread to( HT Upgrades W/Pics. )

Thank You Mods for the title change and Thank You Alex for the incentive :D
Mantown woke me up !

This was just before I moved the speakers, to give an idea as to the front wall in the family room where I want to mount the flat panel, again, it was mounted in the living room with a tilt mount from mono.

The rest of the pics give a little insight into the entire front wall, the rough framing you see at the top is the parallam beams holding up the roof rafters and the lower 2x material is just a series of grid work that I put in to help with lateral support kind of like a collar tie, these will all be wrapped with 1/2 inch birch ply wood and get a coat of clear for now.I will pack out the single 2x to Five and one half inches when finished.

That there unfinished four gang rough in box on the left wall will be for the low voltage lighting that will reside on top of the lower beams for ambient lighting, is that the correct terminology Rickster ?

This is looking up at the ceiling in this room over the right hand side when looking at the display.

This is the wall to the left when looking forward to the display.

Ceiling to the left.

Overall view of ceiling in the new HT area.

As of this time this morning the only items in the room are the flat panel and the sofa and one rocking chair. I wanted to start wrapping the beams in Birch but it is raining like cats and dogs, I couldn't set up out side and I cant rip full sheets in my shop,:(. I guess I will have to wait it out but it is really dark and grey. I want to darken the room but their is somewhat of a dispute over colors, this was her color and I am dealing with it at this point in time, being it is overly bright for an HT I will call this my after hours HT, can't see the color at night :D

I just want to get everything 100% completed before September 1st, my ideal completion date.I am going to do something different with my plasma panel in the way of mounting so I will post pics of this build.

That has to be the worst AVR on the market...
Do you really think so, I wanted to get more input from everyone before hand and now you tell me :(.
I guess I will just have to deal with it for now, I'll get by ;)

No I don't really think so. I wanted one when they first came out but I don't use the amp section of my AVR except to pwer other zones and I am a big Audessy fan so I had to go with something else.

I think it is an awesome AVR and it looks great too.

I am ripping down birch ply today hopefully the plasma will be mounted soon.
That's great.

Birch is a great wood to work with. I miss it here.

Sorry for asking...what plasma?

I have a Pioneer 500M that will be re-mounted in the room I posted pics of, it was wall mounted with a tilt mount in the Living Room , I put the table top stand on and set it up in the Family Room (again ) to see if day time viewing would be a problem as it is very bright in there, it seems to be just fine so I am putting it back , wall mounted for good this time, with a few changes, stay tuned, sawz.

If you saw "Mantown" by our very own Alex, you would get a grasp of what I am up to, minus the drywall repairs, I just have some free time and want to totally re-vamp this family room to be my very own "mantown 2", the family room aspect died with the Brady Bunch. I have some exposed beams that need immediate attention as well so 1/2 inch birch some glue and my handy Hitachi nail gun should do the trick there, 3/4 inch birch to build up some fancy shmancy plasma mount, it just has to be different from all of the rest.

That room looks awesome. I want to see more of it and better explanation of what you are doing.

I also want to see you pull out some balls, put your foot down and get a PJ with a big screen that comes down over the plasma for movie night.

I'd like to recommend a nice black vinyl cove base for that room. :D

I'm looking forward to seeing it progress to a finished room. The hardwood floor is a mixed blessing with looks and acoustics but area rugs sure do add a layer of refinement that wall to wall carpeting can't touch.

I ripped down enough 1/2 inch birch to wrap all of the beams and started to build my "different" wall mount for the flat panel, I can sketch it up but it will be somewhat easier to just take a pic , so that's what I will do in the morning :)
