What changed with these proposed prices?
Those prices seem to be more in line, not sure how or why I was thinking that the 16" was going to be in the realm of $4k.... If you look back into the thread that seemed to be the way of thinking which went uncorrected and that would be out of line - so maybe Dual Opposed 16" maybe at the $4k price... Sounds alot more appropriate

The 4k price tag was directly confirmed from Ron for a (mono-driver) SB16-ultra. I specifically asked several times for confirmation.

As for future dual driver sub, it is just a future project and the price will be nowhere near the current SVS subs as far as I know.

Warp, that's a year old, since, I've seen the price of the 16 on other early spec sheets @ $2600. Then the bomb dropped a few months ago stating ~ $4K. The early press was before they went off shore and before they had the new amp platform in hand. In fact, the first platform for the 16 was supposed to be 1K. The new spec is 2K. We won't know until we know, but I'm curous and scratching my head at the same time.

there's been many changes to the design/parts used since the news was "leaked" by some handsome guy 2 years ago. :D

i did pay about the same money for my DD18. i'm pretty sure this would trounce the DD18 (and most likely the F113) :)

The pricing is intriguing, in a good way. Will be most interested in some reviews on these. The upgrade bug never left my household. If only my salary upgrade keeps pace with my audio upgrades!:)

Yes, the pricing puts it in line with other consumer subs of this level. We just don't know of the performance yet but let's say it just equals the F113 or the DD18. I would 100% go with SVS because of their CS and the way they stand behind their product at every level.

I can't think of the last time that the Vice President / Chief Operating Officer from Velodyne or JL emailed or called me......but this is what you get from SVS.

I have no doubt that the large ported SVS boxes will outperform the sealed but for those who are not allowed a monster box, this sealed may be the way to go.

I do realize that I am starting to sound like a SVS fanboy but you guys know me and you know that I would dump a product at the drop of a hat if it didn't perform well. The Ultra is staying in the Dawg's house!

Who built your boxes? Did you start a thread on your project?
LOL - Just do an advanced search for Keyword:"Subwoofer", User Name: "Warpdrv"!

Yeah, and when you're done with that, "Bring me a shrubbery"!:D:D:D

Sorry - OT, but I couldn't resist!
