I've been in my basement with a shop-vac since Monday. We've got just enough water to keep the carpet wet.
It's the second time in 18 years. It's always bone dry and after so many years I let my guard down, kinda forgot about all the snow we've had. The ground was saturated and the last big rain storm pushed us over the edge.

I've been in my basement with a shop-vac since Monday. We've got just enough water to keep the carpet wet.
It's the second time in 18 years. It's always bone dry and after so many years I let my guard down, kinda forgot about all the snow we've had. The ground was saturated and the last big rain storm pushed us over the edge.

That sucks Rick! I hope it doesn't cause damage.

I hoped to save the carpet, but it wasn't drying out fast enough and started to get that mildew smell; so I just pulled it all up.
