It has been said that THX Certification was meaningless I guess we now have proof that it is. Maybe if I send in my PS3 and the fee I could have the only THX Certified PS3 in the world.:D

It would have to pass analog performance tests, and it would not.:D

I was wondering, since when has a badge/transfer applied to a piece of equipment improved its sonic performance?

Maybe we should have a new acronym for THX

THX = The Hype eXperiment...

Ladies and Gentlemen... have we all been duped?:mad:;)

At one time THX might have meant something, they need to stop all this nonsense with certifying everything under the sun. Hopefully this will get their attention and revamp the standard and make it clear and stop selling themselves for a fee. Now as for Lexicon you should be fined, sued or something for attempted fraud for trying to sell a $500 BDP for $3500, what in the hell where you guys smoking I would like some if makes me hallucinate to the point that I think I can sell a clone BDP for an extra 3k.

The Home Theater Review thread

This discussion kind of goes hand in hand with the Home Theater Review dot com review of the Lexicon, where the reviewer gushed over the improved performance of the Lexicon over the Oppo BPD83-SE, which as we know is an upgraded model of the BPD83 the Lexicon is cloned from.

When comments started filling up from the disbelievers, the site owner took an attitude, then an axe to the comments field...

I have a transcript available at my home site for anyone thats interested.. www dot stabbingpixies dot com

disclaimer: I'm not the most objective, but have no ulterior motive other than I got pissed off at the posturing - I'm a musician looking for a new player for my home studio,.. I was posting as "m" in the thread in question and took it rather personally when he accused me of being a shill for other manufacturers/websites/aliens/pick your conspiracy.

Enjoy!

Mike I see you are one of Jerry's favorite people:D, Jerry is all pissed off because he got caught with his pants down and is getting served like Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction and there is no Bruce Willis to save him. The HTR review offered no testing numbers it was done by ear as you pointed out and his response's were childish, then he takes it a step further by deleting posts that he didn't like, WAPA.

Tell tale signs of a loser not willing to change his mind, his life, or anything. A perfect example of a person willing to accept what he reads, gets, and doesn't put much effort forth to achieve. There are millions of people like this graft into our society, heads so full of pure and utter nonsense and steadfast ignorance. Of course, it's much simpler to continue going on as things always have and cower in the presence of change. And I'm talking about real change, not that phony crap Obama dumped over everyone before he took office.

So go on little loser over at HTR, stay in your little hole and ignore reality. It's not like you have to face the harshness of the reality you deny, it's only the generations that follow. I pray to God that guy didn't or doesn't breed cursing humanity with more ignorant cows with their rear ends facing the heavens and their heads in the sand.

While I was reading through Rmorph's public service post on Home Theater Review I noticed this from Jerry del Colliano:

Lastly, think what you want. This isn't Fox News. This isn't the religious right. At HomeTheaterReview.com there is room for more than one opinion.
Let's look at this closely.

(1) "This isn't FOX NEWS". That's correct, it is (was) Home Theater Review. It doesn't take a genius to notice the difference.

(2) "This isn't the religious right". Ditto to my #1 comment.

(3) "At Home Theater Review.com there is room for more than one opinion". Then all deissenting opinons were erased?

OK, from my observations FOX NEWS has many dissenting opinons on their programming. None to my knowledge, have been deleted. The "religious right" is made up of many different thoughts regarding religion. I'd be considered part of the "religious right" and while I personally do not believe in let's say macro evolution or cross-species evolution, I do not reject it categorically. Of course there's room to believe in both God and evolution. I just do not accept the evidence presented in the science community to conclude that evolution must be the standard mode of thinking. Now, the anti FOX NEWS and anti-religious right do to dissent? Erased it. I think that speaks volumes about who's the closed-minded drone.

Is Lexicon now a cult religion with faithful followers? It seems so at HTR.

BTW, my real name is Darren and Audioholics has my real email on file.

Damn Seth stop trying to be nice about it.:D Your right this guy didn't like the fact he got called out, also did you see that the reviewer MD Ken didn't really post much of anything and when he did post it was some weak BS how he was going to compare the 2 and that the Oppo drive was louder than the Lexicon's drive. That is the only thing he could come up with "really?" and if you read the review in conjunction with the posts not once did they say the Lexicon was better, These guys should run for public office I haven't so much ducking and dodging since Mayor Richard Daley tried to answer why so many of his employees are being investigated by the F.B.I.

There is a war a brewing over at Hometheater review.

Seems Jerry, the editor in chief (or whatever), decided to delete a massive amount of comments from a review lavishing praise on the Lexicon, and commenters crying foul.

He aggressively hammered commenters, defending his magazine and accusing them of working for other online mags.

When things got heated, in a panic I guess, he tried to sweep it all under the rug, deleting all the comments save 2, and closing posting.

However many users were able to point out (before their comments were erased) that you can check google's cache.

Sorry I can't post any links, not enough points. :(
Yep, I am one of those commentators. I sent them a scorching email...

They can delete google cache... They were getting brutalized in the comments section and couldn't handle the heat (truth).

Is it really "news" that THX certification seems to be little more than a blingy badge? I've believed that for years and years now.
