Fans can be pretty dumb sometimes....:) What if he had kept Manning and the others in, but Manning, Wayne or Clark got injured, and they still lost? I have no doubt this was part of the game plan before the game.
Maybe...but Manning would've released the ball way before Pace could have caused the Painter fumble which lead to the TD.:)

It looks possible that the Pack will have a 2 week vacation in Arizona. :D

NO EXCUSE, pulling keys is one thing but this was lame and even Manning knew it. You play to win every game period. Subing first string for second is BS...... Keep the team healthy but win :(:(:(:(

I understand the Colts pulling Manning from a meaningless game. What's the point of taking the chance that he gets hurt? I think Norv will sit the important guys for our game next week as we can probably beat the Redskins with our scrubs and we have a lot of guys that are banged up. Resting them this week, and then having a first round bye will allow our hurt players to get almost 3 weeks of rest just before the playoffs. There's no point in risking injury to your key players in a game that means nothing.

That being said, I did enjoy hearing that the Colts lost. :D

Once again, how 'bout them Bolts?!?!? An awesome complete ***-whoopin' of the Titans. My boy Mighty Mouse got himself 3 TD's!!!

The trend lately with the Chargers and Rivers is only to time manage the clock and not use his arm because the games where usually over by halftime. (sucks, if he is your FF QB..).
I'm going with the Chargers all the way....:D

Talk about crapping the bed when we needed to come out and play big. Can't really put all of the blame at Eli's feet... not to say he played great, but our defense gave up 41 points!! That's just pathetic. On the first drive the Giants were just pumping the ball down their throats, and then we get a penalty and Manningham fumbles the ball away. After that it was all downhill...

Bad defense, dropped passes, and missed assignments were the story of the game.

It was a bad holding call. The guy had tripped over someone on the ground. But after that, the Giants looked beat. You could see it in their eyes. What the F'k? Everyone has to deal with a little adversity. Not every call will go your way. It was still the first quarter and they looked beat already.
This is the difference between a winning team and a loosing team. Winners pick themselves up after a bad call or roll and play that much harder. Losers feel sorry for themselves and crumble. The Giants crumbled. Eli continued to play well for awhile, but with no one else giving 100%, it was just a matter of time before he fell apart too.
Next season, they better find a better way to motivate these players. They have the talent, but they have been spotty at best this season.

The Bolts are looking good. They should do well in the post season.

I agree it was surely not Eli's fault, the team just basically fell apart right in front of our eyes, bad D is an understatement they were transparent, and I am shocked, too much talent to $hit the bed like that, I think a shake up to you beloved Giants is fast approaching and when some key players ask for their walking papers there will be some killer talent hitting the market, I wonder if the coach will shoulder all of the blame again , I would be surprised if that guy didn't have some serious anxiety issues.

Where the heck is that darn Tiger, I thought he would be bantering all over the place this morning,.
Eagles @ Dallass !This is the way it used to be last game , meaningful , lay it on the line for the NFC EAST. I hope we bust the Romo bubble before the game reaches the second quarter, I think this is will be some what of an outstanding game and really live up to all the hype they used to muster up, The Giants became our new Rivalry but this game is H U G E and I never stopped being a Cowboy Hater( mostly Jerky Jones ) so I can taste the fierceness of the battle already, I see The Eagles winning by ten points and taking the NFC East "A-Gain"

GO EAGLES :D :D :D :D :D !!!

It's a huge game, but the chances of a rematch the following week are very high. All I care about is in 2 weeks. The Cowboys D vs the Eagles O will be a great matchup. Romo need not win this game he simply needs to play smart like he has been since the first Giants game.

As far as the Colts stopping. I agree with the choice. Undefeated doesn't mean jack. a Super Bowl title means everything. Does anyone think that the 70s Miami team is the best ever? The colts aren't as good as the 80s 49ers.

I guess the Giants got whatever disease Dallas got last year. No need to clean house though. You have the talent to make a run still.

Injuries played a huge part this year on defense for us (Phillips, Pierce, Ross, etc), but all teams get injured and it cannot be used as an excuse. Hell- last year Osi went down in the preseason and we still managed to buckle down. I think it has 100% to do with coaching on the defensive side of the ball. I don't know if we throw Sheridan (the D-Coord) out this offseason, but he clearly did not have control over that unit.

All the bashing and bantering aside, as we all do it in good fun, I wonder just what in the world will become of the Redskins, oh my goodness that team is in a funk that seems as if there is no escape. Snyder has killed the beloved Hogs so to speak, I would think that every coach needs to take a hike even that bingo calling guy in the box calling offensive plays, his calls are offensive all right down right offensive.I wonder who can right that sinking ship under the Snyder ownership if even possible, too bad for some decent talent wasted again.
Like I always say to my sporting friends around here, these teams continually waste talent, they finish bad(Detroit for one) they finish bad get the first , second , third picks in the draft, take these guys that would be superstars on most teams in the NFL and just let them go to waste while they try to re-build, too many years go by and the poor guys never get to be the Drew Brees, Randy Moss , DeSean Jacksons, They don't go unnoticed but they remain trapped on an under achieving team, unless of course your Father is a Manning then you can go where ever you want, :D

I think you need a healthy dose of perspective. The Giants have a schedule that few teams could have handled. You are simply victims of a brutal schedule in my view. I think you leave things alone and you will have a great year next year. You will get the 3rd place teams next year.

Seattle, Carolina, Chicago are a much easier clip than this years brutal setup.

The Redskins are way better than their record. They have a very good defense, but a terrible offense. I believe they will get Bradford in the draft because Campbell just hasn't worked out. He'd be a great backup, but as a starter he's just not able to make good decisions. I kind of hope they get Mike S. I know it will make life even harder in our division, but the guy could get that offense fixed. With a better offense they'd be in the mix every year.

Still the regular season is over. Next week is irrelevant for the NFC. All that matters is the post season now. Anyone can make the Super Bowl regardless of seed. So I'm not even worried about the game on Sunday.

Maybe so, but when a team gives up more than 20 points in 10 games and 30 points in 6 of those (and another 2 greater than 40 points) then something is not quite right with the defense.

It's interesting to note that in 11 of 15 games the Giants scored more than 20 points, and scored more than 30 in 6 games. So the offense is not the source of the problem.

What kills me is the 3rd down defence. How many times did they stop another team cold on 1st and 2nd downs, just to give up 10+ yards on 3rd downs?

I'm going to disagree that Campbell is a bust because I think he's been put in a terrible situation. He's been in the league for 5 seasons (including one where he sat on the bench), and has had 2 different head coaches, 4 different offensive coordinators, and at least 4 or 5 QB coaches. Every new coach has a new philosophy and a different offense- how is a young QB supposed to adapt every year to a new system?

Looking at stats, Campbell is doing more than a serviceable job. He completes more than 60% of his passes (increasing each year to 64% this year), and has thrown for more TDs than INTs in each year in the league. This year he could end up throwing for more than 3500 yards (depending on the last game). He's also been sacked the 4th most amount of times this year of any QB... considering the Redskins have the 27th ranked rushing game in the league (and after watching the Giants game), he's not exactly being protected out there.

I do agree that Campbell probably isn't right for the Redskins going forward because of the history, but I think if you took the guy and put him on a decent team with a solid coaching staff (Kurt Warner will retire someday soon- he could be a great fit in Arizona), he will be a top 10 QB in the league.

Every time I watch Campbell I see problems he brings on himself. He holds on to the ball way too long. He steps too far back in the pocket. Sure with Norv Turner coaching him up he'd be a hall of famer, but those guys are few and far between. I do agree the coaching carousel has destroyed him, but Mike S might rebirth his career. I think consistency is important. This is why I'm against the boys making any changes. I realize Wade isn't popular, but the defense is now the top in the NFC and the 3rd in the league. Who can argue with a top defense. JG needs to learn what a Play action pass is though.

Like I asked earlier, who will be the first Giant asking out, I just read this:

Thanks- Must Read? Yes

Umenyiora frustrated after Giants poor effort

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.(AP) — An incredulous Osi Umenyiora expressed his frustration after the New York Giants' dismal performance against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday and wondered whether he had played his last game with the team.

``I couldn't really explain what I'm feeling right now, disappointment is an understatement, in everything, the way everything has played out this year has been absolute nonsense, very disappointed, disheartened, discouraged, whatever you want to call it,'' Umenyiora said after the Giants' 41-9 loss to the Panthers.

``I feel all those emotions,'' the two-time Pro Bowl defensive end said. ``On a day like this, for us to come out and perform like that is unbelievable to me. I don't even know what else to say.''

I agree Wade has done a good job in Dallas. I think the best thing that he's done on offense is using the running game more efficiently. I looked it up b/c I was curious... Dallas is averaging 4.8 yards per carry this season... that's absolutely incredible. They've got 3 backs who can handle the ball (very reminiscent of the 2007 Giants) and who will all be fresh for the playoffs. While Romo still throws the ball a ton, he doesn't need to carry the entire offense on his shoulders.

I think they could be dangerous...
