First one is from around 1200 Yesterday. The snow had fallen all night, we got about 8 inches of really light snow. I measured it at around 1800 last night and we had 16". Had another inch on the stoop in the morning for a total of 17". Second one is from around noon today. You can sort of get an idea of the storm total from the shed at the left behind the deck railing. That's about 17".

Maryland usually gets a slightly worse version of what we get. I don't know if it's because of the river or not when it comes to snow. I know that tornados rarely set down until they've crossed to the east of the Potomac.

I just want to remind you guys that the whole shoveling snow thing is very hard work so please, please pace yourself and try to get help from family members and or friends. I was out doing my ritual to clear the drive and walkways when I saw my neighbor go down like a ton of bricks, he took a ride to the E.R. I dont know whats up yet but it looked like a heart and breathing issue, the guy is only 50. If you feel any stress or pain forget about it (The Shoveling) and go back into your HT and turn up the heat, take care friends, sawz...

The neighbor spent the night in the ER under observation , I don't know what his ailment was other then Heart Attack like symptoms, I don't want to bother them today but I did clean their walkways this morning so that I didn't have to see him out there again, hopefully he is ok. I on the other hand feel like I just went 15 rounds with my ex, I'm beat up, I'll enjoy the rest of the day in front of the flat panel watching the NFL earn its money playing in the cold,

The pics of my pooch are cool , she just loves the snow,
spent the whole time out there with me, a true companion.

Shoveling is all done and its about 3 pm. All that snow wasn't as bad as it looked - it was deep but light and powdery.

It was fun because some neighbors helped with my driveway, and I helped neighbors dig out two cars that were buried by the snow plow. Shoveling with company sure beats shoveling alone.

Now that I'm indoors and sitting down, I can feel the aches and soreness beginning. Time for advil and a drink.
