He was definitely throwing off his back foot a bunch today- causing 1 pick and 1 or 2 almost interceptions. I love Eli and I love his poise during the 2 minute drill, but he's really gotta stop throwing off the back foot into coverage... then again, that's the case with most QBs. I'm willing to bet that if somebody did the research, we'd find out that at least 60% of interceptions were thrown when the QB did not step into the throw.
I noticed that as well. The one interception he threw in the endzone was a really bad example of that. Eli did not play well, atleast to his standards. He doesn't look like the same qb that was playing at the beginning of the year - since that foot injury. Who knows he could be banged up in other areas and they just aren't saying.

Edit: In the past he could get away with that somewhat. Plaxico was great at jump balls or adjusting/gaining position on the DB/Saftey to poorly thrown deep balls.

Bolts are 9-3. Could we be setting up for a Bolts-Saints Super Bowl?!?! That'd be nice, with the Chargers winning of course.

Hey question for you NY fans. Why do announcers call them the "The New York Football Giants"? It's not like there's a NY Giants baseball team.

There used to be a NY giants baseball team in the 50s the decade the NY football Giants played in the greatest game in NFL history. Sports are all about tradition and history so they stick with it. That's why Dallas is still called America's team even though they've not won a playoff game in 10 years.

The saints barely escaped Washington. I'd not crown them yet. I think Arizona is still the best in the NFC. They have the best receivers, a veteran playoff QB and just rolled Minnesota. Plus there will be no cold games thanks to the domes. I expect a high scoring playoffs though. Should be fun. Maybe Dallas falls into the wild card. Philly should win the division.

One thing in Arizona's benefit is all the teams that will have home field against them all play in domes: Saints, Vikings. There is no quarterback in the league that benefits as much as playing in a dome as Warner. They are still not a consistent team especially in pass protection and everything that team does is based on Warners quarterback play since they throw so much. They will blow out a good team one week and have major breakdowns the next. I hope to hell they get knocked out in the first round. I hate Arizona.

I think the one worry about the bolts is the fact that they've given up a lot of points even in their wins, and the rush defense is towards the bottom of the league. They are also among the worst defenses on 3rd down.

Their offense is so potent that it doesn't completely matter, particularly the passing offense, but if they have to play on the road in the playoffs (particularly in cold weather) it could be interesting.

I was also surprised to see how bad SD is at running the ball this year. They are 3rd to last in yards and dead last in yards per carry. Again, not a major issue if you can throw the ball, but if they have to play an outdoors game in the wind in January it could become a factor.

The remaining schedule sets up relatively nicely though- home against Cincy and Washington (avoid a trip to the East Coast in January), and on the road against Dallas , and Tennessee. I see you guys going at least 2-2, with the Cincy game deciding a first round bye.

Because it makes them sound like "the" NY football team.

Bolts could go all the way, but I doubt it. AFC seems pretty vulnerable overall.

Funny thing is the Jets won the Super Bowl first.

That's not a nice schedule. Tennessee is on a roll, Cincy is very good this year. Dallas is unpredictable and Washington has an upset coming soon.

Not to rain on the parade but the NFL is brutal just ask the Pats who are only 1 game ahead in their division.

Yeah, the running game is really frustrating me too. I hate it when people say that LT's done, but he really hasn't looked like himself for a couple of years. He has flashes of his old brilliance, but he definitely can't carry the team like he used to. The OL is definitely part of the problem as they just don't seem to be opening up the holes that they used to, but I can't put it all on them. I've seen quite a few instances where they opened up enough of a hole for the old LT to squeeze through.

Hey, has anyone heard from Mazer in a while? I haven't gotten my BD from our bet on the Chargers-Giants game and I don't think I've seen him post here in a while. Has he disappeared?

Not sure I hope everything is okay. I imagine he's just busy. Unlike me some people don't have Internet Access at work.

And were named after the baseball Giants when Wellington Mera bought the team for $500.
You mean Tim Mara. Wellington was just a kid when the Giants were founded in the 20s. Tim was a bookmaker and from what I gather a bit of a shady dude...

Interesting urban legend about Wellington though. If you go to a Giants game during the day, you'll notice that the Giants bench is always on the sunny side of the field. The reason for this is when Wellington was a kid the Giants played at the Polo Grounds (which interestingly enough was also the home stadium of the New York baseball Giants). One day he went to a game and came home with pneumonia, which his mother believed was caused by standing in the cold weather on the shady side of the field. She told Tim that if her sons were to go to anymore games that he must make sure that the Giants bench was on the sunny side of the field.

Or so the legend goes.... :D

I heard the same story a few months ago. But for the life of me, I can't remember where.

I do have a Giants T-shirt from back in 86. It is filled with old stories written all over it.

I ordered your DVD from Amazon. It should be there by December 16th. I will PM you a tracking number as soon as I get it.

I since you had to wait. I have a deal for you if you want a "real" NFL Reebok Ladainian Tomlinson jersey? The same jersey the players are wearing on the field. I can text you pictures if you PM me your cell phone number.

Glad to see you're back man. I was actually starting to get worried that something had happened to you.

I would certainly be interested in an authentic LT jersey. What size is it? Is it a home or away jersey? I already have one, but it's framed with a pair of his gloves and an autographed photo, so I'd like to have one to wear again.

I actually have 4 authentic bolts jerseys:

33 - Ronnie Harmon (with 75th anniversary patch)
85 - Gates (Used to be Dwight, but I changed it when he was traded)
43 - Sproles
21 - LT (Framed)

What the hell happened to the Steelers? They were losing 13-0 when I left the gym last night, and the Browns were running the ball at will. To lose to the Browns?!?!? That's crazy.

The Steelers are done. All but mathematically out. We'll have a new champ this season.

Big Ben got a concussion. Whenever he gets hurt they don't even make the playoffs. He may be playing but my fantasy scores tell me he's not what he was. The sick thing is this means they get another good draft pick, an easy schedule next year.
