You mean Tim Mara. Wellington was just a kid when the Giants were founded in the 20s. Tim was a bookmaker and from what I gather a bit of a shady dude...
Interesting urban legend about Wellington though. If you go to a Giants game during the day, you'll notice that the Giants bench is always on the sunny side of the field. The reason for this is when Wellington was a kid the Giants played at the Polo Grounds (which interestingly enough was also the home stadium of the New York baseball Giants). One day he went to a game and came home with pneumonia, which his mother believed was caused by standing in the cold weather on the shady side of the field. She told Tim that if her sons were to go to anymore games that he must make sure that the Giants bench was on the sunny side of the field.
Or so the legend goes....
