Supertramps' first album "Supertramp"
I recently picked this album up in a used vinyl shop, along with Indelibly Stamped. As much as I'd listened to their other albums over the past 35 years for some reason I never before picked these two up. So glad I did, I'm really enjoying them. Quite a bit different then what they were to eventually become.

Mark Knopfler's new one, "Get Lucky". It's pretty good, no big surprises but likable.

Its funny how people pick up on different things. When I listened to this album, I noticed several things.

a.) their signature sound in the making
b.) makings of "Crime of The Century"
c.) and a jazzy funk phsycodelic sound that from the albums I have never made it past this one.

Like you, I picked it up used and its a bit noisy but not too bad. I'll wait and hunt for a better copy should one come up again. Not a very popular album in my part of the world. :)

I listened to the very first album that immediately open another door for me from classical to rock...Led Zeppelin's "Led Zeppelin.

That album just restores my soul after a hard grind at work.

Indeed. I'm actually getting a little Traffic vibe, especially with their s/t album. Admittedly though I do need to listen to both albums quite a bit more to get a better feel for them.

A friend of mine who was born and raised in England recently told me that Supertramp, (or possibly it was some of the members that went on to form Supertramp), played at one of his high school dances.

The pinnacle of San Francisco revolution rock, the Jefferson Airplane doing "Volunteers". Back to the heyday of acid, pot, radical politics, Woodstock, Spiro Agnew, Jack Casady as the world's spaciest bassist and the Fillmore. And what's your favorite stripe on the flag?
