Was this a private email as I didn't find it on the 123 website. I guess this means that MLS is dumping Ruben aka 'Master Cabinet Man'? But it's good to hear he's sticking with Colombia because he can count on timely deliveries of B-stock subs with the lower grades of veneer. Frankly, I can't blame Ruben for being cautious in investing in CNC equipment given MLS's stellar commitments to prompt payment and contractual obligations.
The Ninja aka ex-AV123 employee who is still waiting on his LS-6 posted it, so yeah, I think it was a email sent to those who are in limbo. There was mention that all the LS-6/9 production will be moved over the Lucid.

As for design/Engineer team...it could be these guys AFAIK.

Based on a thread I saw at TCA, this was distributed as an email, presumably to people waiting on LS-9's.

I'm not sure why anyone would assume that a shop as small as Ruben's appeared to be (I got the impression that it is a one-man shop) would represent a viable primary production source for pairs of 7+ foot tall speaker cabinets. Even if all he did was build LS-9 cabinets, one person alone could only produce a trickle of cabinets, especially when the finishes involved are as complex and multi-stage. Adding a CNC machine to cut out MDF would help, but it's not going to produce miracles in the assembly or finishing stages. If you want to build these in any sort of useful volume, I'd think you'd want to employ some sort of factory.

As I recall, The Ninja was supposed to be getting LS-9's but after all the delays and reach arounds was looking to settle for LS-6's in the hopes they'd get to him faster than the 9's.

Well the CNC machine I thought was supposed to just do routing and maybe some drilling. But that aside gonk, it's my uneducated opinion that Ruben was used as a temporary stop gap measure by Shifty who had no intention of using him down the short road. He's someone who was able to get a few LS's made at a time when MLS was pitifully short on cash and could not retain the services of Lucid. MLS was never going to hold on to Ruben. He just did the Shifty two-step and bought himself a couple of more months. That begs the question, why go to Lucid who Shifty admits is slow ableit 'predictable'? Why not that old stalwart Santiago or if you want to keep it domestic, all those furniture places on the east coast or down South?

I didn't get that email so I did not post it :)

I did post about the lack of delivery of my own speakers after many promises of shipment over on the TCA forum.

Kind of makes you wonder when MLS said they've never had so many LS speakers in the house at one time. I guess having two or three pairs constituted just ton. Hang in there Ninja ;)

Sean,

It was nice to finally meet you last month in Oregon.
Hope things work out for you with AV123, but I don't have much faith.

I keep pretty quiet about the non-shipment of stuff, but this is pretty messed up. I hope you have some re-course.

I've never brought this up as I don't have the PM any longer but it was discovered that when MLS was going to send some items to Iraq while I was deployed, that some members (the number is unknown) of AV123 donated to the cause as well but nothing ever did show up. I wrote it off and never said another word about it.

I only found out about other people's donations after a member PM'd me when I had returned home.

Well Matt, it looks like MLS is trying to make good to the military with his 20% off Special Gift For Our Veterans & Those Serving In All Branches Of The Armed Forces

Yea, it's so damn sugary sweet, it's sickening. Mr. exploitation. And then the, "I have some very deep feelings about this group for reasons I rather not divulge" which brings it back to HIM. Reminds me of our President. I guess he's talking about his Kung fu skills. I mean, he's told us everything else about his life, why not about his military service?

Yup, he sure had deep feelings. Like the deep feelings he had for all the causes he exploited using raffles and the good will of the internet community. Justice is coming baby.
