Mine does not really get that hot. I can hold my hand on top of the unit all day long.
I do have mine on the bottom shelf in the open, its not enclosed in a cabinet, this might make a difference. There is a way to read the temperature on the unit, you hold the display button and hit standby button at the same time, release and than hit the setup button. You will see the temperature displayed, like I said in another post. The hottest I have seen mine is 99*.
If I did have mine stored in a cabinet I would get a fan to be on the safe side, when you pay this much money for an item I like to play safe,
