If you want free help I can cook up something. It may not be Wmax's design, but it wouldn't be too shabby. Just be prepared for a pretty large box.
That's ok. I have two Mistral Torrent 12" (DVC) sitting here. Planning on a box with a port that is 26" X 22" X 1.5". That puts me at a tuning of 20Hz.

It's gonna be a big sucker.

Warning: your port width to height ratio is too large. This will cause non-linear behavior. The closer to a square ratio, the better. You can have rectangular ports, but not at the ratio you plan on using.

Hi Chris,

I have an AXIS 15". What would it cost for the plans for ~120dB at 15hz:D
I can design a unique and new design for you. But if you want the specific plans that Paradigm Dog has you will have to offer to buy the plans from him, not me. He owns the rights to the design. It has extreme bracing (for a sub) and will have very low port compression. Warning: it will take up about 10+ cubic feet if you want the ultra low frequency high output ability. But it can be designed to be somewhat tall, therefor keeping a relatively small floor footprint.

Yeah you definitely are too narrow on the port. I know it's easier to build it that way theoretically, but you are losing the benefit. You might as well seal it if construction complexity is a concern.

I had this thing all ready to roll at the beginning of the summer but then the wife's pool got in the way and ate up almost all of my money.

I will set a new target for completion, maybe shoot for building it before next summer. I am dying to see what it will do.

I am not releasing the plans on the forum. I want to be the first one that owns this sub. After I have built it, I may release it but not before then.
I can build this box ( for a small fee) put it all together with small finish screws without glue, then break it down and send it to ya where you can put it together like a christmas present, usimg glue then finish the box yourself, just a thought.Oh crap you would need to send me a copy of the Top Secret plans, :D

1800 watts max based on a 15 amp circuit.. sure.. but a sub like this is most likely going to be used in a special a/v room with a dedicated upgraded service rather than a typical 15 amp service.

Your attempt to piss me off didn't work BTW..thought I'd share that lil secret with you.. ;)
You would need 25 amps to reach 3000 watts. Take into account efficiency (65%) and you're looking at another 9 amps on top of that.

It's easier to believe Paradigm is full of ****.

Yeah maybe but what does Paradigm have to gain with this claim? I'm sure they had access to a 30 amp circuit or higher to test it. Are they full of sh?t? My take on this claim is that the sub can produce those numbers if wired with a circuit with sufficient amperage....and like i said before, its probbaly going to be used in a dedicated special room with upgraded circuits. Hell I just got a 60amp service put in for my hot tub. A 30 or 40 amp service is nothing really.
