ABC New to push National Healthcare

Aderall is an amazing drug they should be prescribing obese people.

I had a friend who was prescribed it for his "ADD" ( he was just lazy ) and he lost 40 pounds in 6 months.

The only bad part is at the 6 month mark your wang falls off.
They did for 25 + years untill the enough negative side effect manifested. I took it for about a year and the focus was amazing but I can see where it could cause major problems.
I think your thinking of Obetrol, which has racemic amphetamine and methamphetamine salts in it. Adderall only has amphetamine salts.

It's still a very powerful drug, but, its not Obetrol (which has been off the market for like 30 years).

Adderall does lower the appetite of most people, it's a stimulant. It didn't change mine much though.. maybe when I first started for a month or so.

For people who have ADD it has a calming effect, for people without its much different (its like weak cocaine that lasts a really long time).

The big issue here is ABC's UNPRECEDENTED access to the Whitehouse.

No offense, but maybe they ought to have a look at the association of how the medical field and insurance companies are truly the ones here that are totally F#cking up this system here..... there needs to be some regulation over this here....

I not necessarily in support of Nation wide health care, but there should be something done about this...

If you go into a doctor sometime.... ask how much a procedure will cost - knowing it will be put through insurance.... and then ask how much for cash and then prepare to catch your jaw from falling off your face...

Insurance companies are screwing up everything - if the doctor has to deal with insurance, he gets screwed - and in turn you get screwed. Then the prices just keep escalating here because in america everyone is Law Suit happy, so think about what a doctor has to pay just to have malpractice insurance... more escalating costs...

Then take a look at how many hospitals are going up all over the place, which don't have to pay taxes either - but they are getting rich quick... its huge business. And we wonder why health care - hopsitals - drugs - and everything else included is so freaking outrageous...

Something needs to be done here....

A lot of doctors here in South Florida don't have malpractice:

I pay doctors in cash too, the difference in cost isn't worth filing on my insurance most of the time. I'll save that for if I have a real big problem. I guess I don't look at insurance as something for general practitioners and non-emergency matters. I used it for when my sinuses needed a CAT-scan, but to save a couple bucks on a physical its not worth it. I swear I get into doctors faster because the secretaries know I just pay cash.

Again, part of this is because BCBS doesn't seem to pay much for general stuff and drugs. I think this has helped me too, because with perscriptions like adderall and ambien, which I'm sure they know about and track, I got approved for the best kind of insurance ... I bet it because they looked and said "he takes some serious stuff, but, he is otherwise healthy" ... versus the people who file something every time they go to a doctor/stub their toe... they want to avoid because its not as profitable.

....

I really don't understand why insurance pays for half the stuff people get anyways. I mean, a physical ... or worse a physcologist .... maybe if your mental .. but when you have every nutjob in the world complaining about their husbands not ****ing them right I start to wonder why that should be insured. I know its hard to draw the line, but, I kinda think insurance should be for if you get cancer or get shot or need MRIs, etc. Like, not 100-200 dollar ****.

I can't pretend to be correct though, its very complex.

I agree with a lot of that. Health insurance should be like auto insurance in that it pays for big things, not every little thing. Auto ins. would be thru the roof if people could use it for oil changes, and general repairs.
I think health care got like this when most people started getting it provided to them instead of paying for it. Prices would come down if people shopped it like we do for AV gear.:D

As soon as this thread was created, I did not intend to keep up with it, because I figured it would be too hard to at the time. Ok, so I've now read most of the thread.

I agree with Tomorrow on Tort Reform. I don't think that by itself will be the end all, but a lot of the countries mentioned in this thread have NO fear of insanely ridiculous lawsuits.

I've known quite a few in the healthcare industry over the years, and I think of one ER doctor who just worked his azz off. His brother asked him, "Why work so hard?". His response was to build the nest egg for when he gets fukked over. This guy would also be wondering why the heck he is saving gansters lives as he works in a bad area, bullet ridden, when they're just going to do the same to others, or come back for a repeat visit.

Heck, many years ago, there was some an 18 y.o. who did not get accepted to Princeton. His father and grandfather graduated from there. Who did they blame? The OBGYN who delivered him 18 years prior, and that doctor lost nearly everything trying to defend himself.

Now, as for France being #1? I gotta look at that link, brb. Ok, 20 seconds later, I still don't find it, and I don't care right now. But, again, Tomorrow is on the money as for French health: diet. Europeans also just walk everywhere they go, so exercise too. This is a BIG ONE.

I used to live in France for a couple of years. I visited a friend in the hospital. People were smoking in the lobby!!! Sheesh. NONE of my friends owned a car. Ok, I remember one person now. We walked everywhere. Soon as I come back to the US, it's just a matter of time before I put some weight on.

But, here is a post I made on a previous healthcare thread, over a year ago, and most* of my thoughts haven't changed. Actually, I'm fine with national healthcare, but as pointed out by somebody here, it's about the execution. That's the scary part.

With a hand picked audience that overwhelmly favored some type of healthcare reform, The Predsident struggled, for what was almost 45 minutes actual response time, to provide any "new" or relavent information on his goal of reform, that he proclaimed what be in place by years end.

With all this time spent on selling this product, not a whole lot was actually sold:eek: So the proponents will still be moving forward and the opposition confused at what the other side is proposing:confused:

actually I read in USA Today that the cost of lawsuits only takes up about 2% of the healthcare costs. Maybe it's like the pork barrel spending complaints. Hospitals have come up with ways to deal with that already actually. They basically settle with a patient for a lot less money whenever they mess up. The patient gets to skip the lawsuit and what not. So it's a win win.

I personally have a major Medical policy combined with an HSA. It's the way to go for a single young guy. I pay around 76 for the health care and put 150 into my HSA every month. It's tax deductible too. :) I think all health care shoiuld move to this type of method.

We normally do not agree on political issues but, hold on while I pick myself up off the ground, I agree with you.:D
