Frames for panels

Well, I had some free time today, so I made some simple frames for my panels. Actually, I'm pretty pleased with the look. Here's a few pics...

New acoustic panel over fireplace bricks...

Been wanting to do this for some time as that area was also very reflective and affected imaging. This solution has tamed it somewhat.

Excellent solution for lessening the reflection caused by the fireplace. Obviously, you have the wife's approval of such a decorative and LARGE acoustic panel. How'd you pull it off?
By the way, I'm still trying to squeeze in time for the surgery. For some reason the rest of the family deems that project, very low on the list of priorities. It's all about them. I'm sure you know what I mean!

Thanks ld. It has helped "tighten" things up and has helped imaging. Initially, I started off with a pair of standing 6'x2.5' panels on either side of the room, but that was really intrusive, so I downsized to the one panel that's over the fireplace. My wife was much more accepting once I changed that. I still have some extra foam and wood frames, and I plan to build a few more panels. One is going to go directly behind the display, and another on the wall to the sub side. I had my wife listen to some jazz (Chuck Loeb-between 2 worlds 1st track) in the sweet spot, and this was at 12dB below reference, but it did not sound too loud at all. She was actually impressed and commented that it sounded "live". That made my evening! Everything is coming together nicely.

Do you have possibilities for some panels right behind listening position, at this place what you mostly need is diffusers and not absorbers

Well, diffusers need proper amount of space from the listener to work. I learned that from the experts here.

With the head against the back wall (and tell me if I'm wrong about that), what you want IS absorption, thick enough for bass, and as much as you're willing to put on that wall.

Not certain about getting the diffusers for now. Maybe in the future. Next on the list is a new pre/pro.
