Hello all, is anyone using IE-8?
If so, how do you like it so far, any problems?

Thanks,
Rick

I don't find it much better than IE7, the accellators are ok, but I don't really use them, and it seems like new tabs open up slower for me, hopefully there are some security updates with it that make it more secure, but knowing MS, I'm not holding my breath.

in the same sentence what are you smoking and where can I get some.:) It's not nice to not share man.:p

Honestly I suggest you use Opera or Firefox. The dangers of using IE are far too great. IE has thousands of exploits some of which can get to the inner parts of your OS. I know Firefox has it's issues, but you are asking for trouble if your using IE to do surfing. Now going to trusted sites with IE isn't a big deal. Just don't surf with it. It's like surfing with a holed board.

I've been thinking of trying Firefox for a while now.
Is there a way of temporarily using it, just incase I want to go back?

Thanks for the info,
Rick

I've been using Firefox for years now and I will never go back to IE. The only reason MS started improving IE was because it faced a real threat from Mozilla.

On my laptop I have two short cuts on my desktop to AH. One is IE and the other is Firefox. I don't really know how I did it but it is possible to only use it for certain things. I prefer Firefox because it blocks those words that bring pop ups when you scroll across them. I know it's advertising dollars but I find that plain rude.

Edit: On my desktop Firefox is the default browser and it blocks all the ads. I don't know why the two behave differently. I might be able to figure out all of today's tech if there is reincarnation.

Maybe there is an addon for IE8 that will block the intellitext, I should look into that.

Very much agreed ^^^^^. I love Firefox and will never use IE again. Firefox is not only safer, but runs much smoother w/o any major problems whatsoever. I can NOT recommend it enough. Way to go Mozilla! ;);) Sorry, I have had a lot of sugar today.:eek::eek:

Cheers,

Phil

IE6 and 7 are bad enough....8 is even worse because all it does is break a bunch of things that make IE the only reason to use IE - Connecting to corporate networks.

I would highly recommend either Firefox, Opera, or Chrome. Firefix being the best of them because it has just the right balance of speed, security, and is second to none for add ons.

I installed Mozilla Firefox based on some of the reviews read here. Being a IE user for so long, I never really became comfortable with Firefox so I uninstalled it after about a week. My guess is you can't teach a old dog a new trick...besides I don't surf at those bad places so IE works for me...:D

Just my 2 cents...:)

Hi Bill, that's what I'm afraid of.
I've been using it since IE 1.0 and even though I'm sure Firefox is better, I don't think I'd last.

I guess I'll have to stay off the Find an Asian Bride sites... I'm doing research for Adam.:D

The IE8 beta in Windows 7 is not impressive. Windows 7 beta users like me cannot upgrade to the final IE8 version. It doesn't matter to me though as I do not use IE. I use Maxthon. It's based on IE but it adds many usability and security enhancements. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to get Firefox to work just like Maxthon with all of it's convenient features but I just can't.

Firefox is the way to go... I could never use something else, I love my ad-on too much. I have no clue if IE has half of them and I wouldn't want to take the time to find out.

Everyone switch to Linux and Firefox. You won't have any problems...

that is, until 85% of the market is using Linux and Firefox. :)

Yeah but it's still much easier to make Windows programs.
