can you not just make 4 larger diameter but same thickness feet for the sub to sit on? this would reduce the lbs\sq\inch on the floor this reducing the amout the sub sinks in the carpet.
Maybe hockey pucks? Or maybe, this really is not that big of a deal since the owner of the company said he designed the sub this way.

i see Epik still uses the boundary to their "advantage"

Apparently this design was done to keep the cabinet as small as possible. I understand now that boundary loaded ports are supposed to be very close to the ground in order to get the output gain.
Is this an effective design?

It is not as effective as building the port correctly without having to rely on boundary gain. It frees up placement options as well as limits potential noise/compression issues.

I decided to go ahead with the order on the Epik Phoenix. They are local to me and have a 30-day full refund policy. If it is a significant upgrade from the HSU 3.3, I will keep it :D

No Conquest for me. Don't have that much room.
I sure wish there website showed what they had in stock.... For instance the Conquest. I talked to Karen via email a few days ago and she seems very nice btw but she had one conquest in stock that was up for grabs but if I ordered/bought it online there was no guarantee it would still be in stock and I appreciated her honesty. Unfortunately my work hours over lap theres so I'd have to order online so not sure I want to buy something not knowing if they really had one and dont have the patience to wait 2 more weeks or longer. I've been waiting to long as it is and im only about a few days away from being able to pull the trigger :D

As far as I know, all the new line subs are in. Its just that there is a 2-3 week wait for them to be built. So, at least for the new line, they are taking orders for them now.

Conquest is the only hold over from the old line. No changes were made to it. All the other old subs have been discontinued. For more info on the new line, visit their webside www.epiksubwoofers.com

Are you sure you aren't seeing a cached page? I was looking at the site last week and the only old sub I saw was the Conquest. I did like the looks of the new Phoenix sub though.

That makes more sense then. Then do look good tho, and if they sound as good as the last lineup I'm sure they will be incredible. It's a shame that my neighbors whine about the speakers I have now:rolleyes:

I wish they complained to me since they are just noisy, never loud just drop crap and all:rolleyes:. They actually complain to the landlord and since they are family and cut me a pretty good deal on the rent I prefer to just stay low key and not whine back.

On the other hand don't let that fool you, I still turn it up my fare share:D;)

Oh and I did tell Matt that I would buy his x-ls's if the other person didn't want them...

PS: to GOV did you get your sub yet? When I took a look at the new line up that is the one I was looking at.
