Thanks guys... Strangely enough, I just kind of fell into those duties as I jumped on their forums in the opening weeks and was a huge fan of the PC website which I had used extensively before buying my first (and still current) projector to replace my CRT.
I'm not a techno junkie as you may find with some AVS Forum guys who replace projectors every year and try 10 different screens a year. But, I like the practical side and more general comprehension of it all.
While my personal projector kind of sucks (I've been waiting for 1080p, and now that it's here, I'm probably going to move this year instead of buy a new projector), I do have the opportunity to see many new projectors a year with my own company and I make an effort to go through local stores and play with their projectors a bit.
Most of all, I just try to read reviews and stay up to date - which is a lot more than most newcomers can do with projectors. So, they get some initial bad information, or make some assumptions which just turn out to be incorrect, and then I try to help.
Hard to help whe someone can't afford another $500. I get it - simple as that. You either got the cash or you don't, and $1,300 compared to $800 is pretty significant no matter how you slice it.
EDIT: Oh, and about a year ago I asked them to change my name from BMXTRIX to AV_Integrated here, but got shot down. Seems they don't want to setup a precidence for changing users names.
