Anticipation!

Folks, I am just curious as to what, if any, new gear are you looking forward to being released. I mean, we all know the new receivers should be coming in very soon. Still yet, there are the new BR players, and etc. I noticed Chad at Epik just released some new sub designs, as well as, a new website. With that being said, is there anything YOU are planning to acquire as soon as it becomes available? If so, please share with us as many may be thinking the same thing or at the very least-anticipating a change in their set-up. Let us know what is going on and what your plans are with respect to the new gear that is coming out soon. Personally, I find this time of year quite exciting as all the new gear starts to trickle in. Do you? Here is your chance to update us on your plans. Feel free to elaborate my fellow audioholics.

Yeah, it does look promising. I figured you might be thing of a second Ultra. Then, the EQ1 would be even more helpful. I am curious to see what Panasonic is coming out with. I have read a bit on the new BR players, but I hope they don't cut too many corners. It seems to be more of the norm though in this economy we are now living in. Guess, they have to cut corners in order to remain competitive. Who knows though right? Panasonic may find ways around certain things as a means to hold costs down. Only time will tell.

Either way, any would be rather significant. How about a new Pre/Pro? The Pioneer 919 looks promising for such a role-you agree? Have any other ideas(s)? Just curious is all my friend. Hope all is well.

My Pioneer is doing just great right now. I don't have anything that uses HDMI, so I don't need to add any of that functionality. Perhaps a new receiver this year, but that would only be once I get a new TV and decide to step up to blu-ray.

I see. Once you do take the BR plunge, you will find it hard to go back to regular dvd. At least, it would be for me. My point about the 919 is that many of the lower offerings now have lots of great features such as decoding the new codecs. I used to own a 1015 and know it is a true performer. Really miss mine.

I took the BR plunge late last year which, unfortunately for my wife, has set in motion an avalanche of upgrades. I haven't really upgraded any, and I mean ANY, of my equipment since 2000/2001...well here I go, and all it took was a PS3 to get the ball rolling.

I'm torn between the Mitzu WD-73736 and the WD-73835...decisions, decisions I know.

My B&K AVR will be upgraded to the new Emotiva UMC-1 along with their XPA-2, and XPA-5.

I'm also going to upgrade my L/R mains to Martin Logan Summits.


Yup, I'm probably going to be on the couch for a while...but at least that will put me in front of all my new gear. (That is, if she doesn't kick me out all together.)

I have been a bit anxious to see what Denon does come out with. Whatever they do come out with, I am sure it will be spectacular. Guess we will find out in time. The waiting is what makes this so much fun-right? Just wished they would speed it up a bit.

Yeah, the 1019 looks rather interesting. Emotiva has been getting a lot of attention here, as well as, on other forums. It looks to be a good year for them. Thanks for sharing.

Dave, in this economy is pays to be cautious. Don't blame you at all for that. My problem is, I always find something I could use and for some strange reason it becomes a need. At least, that is what I tell myself. However, I have slowed down a lot myself in more ways than one.

As for me, I think I read that the PS3 is going to come down in price by a $100 or so. Seems like I recall the article mentioning it could be down by $150 come this fall. To me, that sounds really good if that actually happens. I can't seem to find the article anywhere or I would post a link. Anyone here know of any other great deals or new gadgets coming out that almost seems to good to be true? If so, here is your chance to speak up about it. Inquiring minds want to know I always say.
