My Mini Polk Audio Dedicated Theater Room

Well here's my mini dedicated theater room... I originally had seven MB Quart QLC-304 CTR paired with two Velodyne VRP-1000 in this small room lol (11ftX11ftX9ft) ... Then I switched the subs out for two Bic America V1220 subwoofers... Both set-ups sounded great... But as with any true audioholic... There is always constant tweaking going on lol... So I moved the majority of the old system down stairs into the living room along with my Marantz ZR-6001. Right now the system consists of:

SPEAKER SECTION
-Six Polk Audio R-50 Floor-standing Speaker
-One Polk Audio Csi-25 Center Channel Speaker
-Two Polk Audio DSW Pro 600 Subwoofers

AV-RECEIVER
-Denon AVR-1909

BD PLAYER
-Playstation 3

PROJECTOR
-Infocus LP-600 with M-1 Hdmi Adapter

SCREEN
-Draper Luma Screen

I seriously doubt my current setup will make it pass this spring lol... I'm already looking to replace the towers, center, and projector... It's a never ending money pit lol! Sorry for the picture quality... They were taken with my camera phone. I'll take better ones later.

If you're wondering, I do prefer the MB Quart setup a little more than my current setup. Don't get me wrong, they both sound very good... But I give a slight edge to my MB Quarts... The reason being is because MB Quarts sound a little more detailed when watching a movie... A lot of that has to do with identical speakers all the way around. The Polk Audio setup has good imagery especially when listening to music in multi channel mode. Both setups have a lot of LFE given the space constraints.

Only 3 people can watch at a time :(.

That's the biggest problem with dedicated, getting enough seating for you and all your friends. Why go dedicated when you cannot enjoy it with friends?

To answer your questions guys... Hostility the MB Quarts are all matching center channels, and the tower's have taken a little time to get use to... Granted the tower's don't dig as deep as the MB Quarts, but they will do for now. I found the Polk center has a hard time trying to keep up with the R-50's... I'm tempted to move the entire Polk system to my living room and bring the MB Quarts up to my bedroom...

MidnightSensi I plan on going in a different direction when it comes to replacing what I have. I had the chance to demo a set (5.1-center, towers, and bookshelfs) of BG (Z series) loudspeakers not too long ago. I enjoyed the planar magnetic tweeters... There is an actual dealer not too far from my house. I know theaudioinsider.com carries the Acculine brand which is very similar in design as the BG's... So there is an alternative... Another option would be Adam Audio speaker brand http://www.adam-audio.com/hifi/english/index.htm... The only time I've actually listened to their stuff was when I stopped by my local Sam Ash store... They had a pair of A7 monitors which had the characteristic of the BG's that I was looking for... If all else fails, I can always take out a small business loan for some Aerial speakers lol... Man I miss my employee's discount at Audio A$%$#*... I had a lot to choose from... Aerial, Wilson, Linn, B&W, Martin Logan, Vandersteen, Era, Genelec, and etc... It was 40% to 60% off of the manufact's price... That even applied to B-Stock B&W's direct from the factory. Good thing I was able to pick up some items before I left... Three Rotel RMB-1066 for $380 each and one RB-1070 for the same price (all brand new)... As well as some other stuff which will be used in my parent's theater rooms...

And yes Adwilk my components are in the closet... The only other option would be to velcro them to the ceiling lol...

Just and update... I recently replaced my Polk Csi 25 center channel with another Polk R50 because if failed to keep up with the rest of the system... I also took the liberty of changing the orientation of my Polk DSW Pro 600 subs from downward firing to forward firing (i.e. repositioning of the feet). It sounds better, but I'm most definitely moving the entire system downstairs to the living room... I have seven B&W LM-1's that I've never used (still in a box since 05), that might go in there... Subwoofer duty will either be a Velodyne DD-12 or two SVS cylinder subs... But we will see...
