Thanks Adam, I love my Era's. They are quite stunning to listen to and have a large amount of bass for such a small speaker, have my sub crossed over to 50. The sub is a Infinity PS8 and meets all my needs for the time being, one day I'll get something better and smaller, I really dont like big subs. Cheers

New setup, still missing some pieces :D

Hello All,

Here is my initial setup.

Denon 2808 Ci
Def Tec ProMon 800
PS3
Sony XBR4 32"
OLD Sony 5 Disc Changer (no digital output, using RCA, the red and white)

I think I am missing a couple of important elements...the woofer and maybe a center..

anybody doing 3.1 setup? lol...

currently I felt my speaker can't reach the high note when playing Celion's power of love....

so I have looked at a couple other speakers and listened to them.

Kef IQ -1 : $327
PSB Image B15 : $317
Polk Rait 1 : $299

any other suggestions?

or maybe i just need NEW EARS.

thank for those who will comment on my posting.

My newly acquired theater

So this is my new theater, specs are in my sig. I have been posting about this for about a month and now I am only two projects away from being completely finished. I have to make acoustic panel for the doors which are full lite doors and as you can see from the picture I need to frame out my screen. So check these out and let me know what is done right and what needs to change. I just wrote up how much I love these speakers and have had them for quite a while and for the first time I played some music and really just sat and critiqued my speakers and how they were bringing the music ALIVE. I was listening to Tchaikovsky Marche Slave which really had every piece of my equipment playing at its peak. I found myself listening to it louder than I listen to movies, around -14db instead of -20db, and to my surprise they had lots of headroom. I havent gone past -20db because I felt like that was there peak anything after that would begin to roll off and get anoying to my ears. Any enjoy the pictures. Im loving this set-up. Cheers

Joe

My humble MBR setup. The nice blank spot in the corner will be filled in, around xmas, with a Hsu VTF-1 (a gift from my wife).

Nice! I wish that my main system was that "humble." :) I'll bet that you get a lot of enjoyment out of that. So, how bad are you bugging her to get your present early? :D

Nice! That desk reminds me of one that we had when I was growing up.

Are those DVD (or CD) cake boxes that you're using as stands for the Onkyo? If so, pretty innovative. They seem to give you just the right height.

They're actually those lifter things that you put under your bed posts. not real classy looking but it gives me enough room to put the wii and basic cable box on the floor. thanks for the complement. any suggestions. besides get a better stand or wall mount.

thanks adam.......i actually love them. i think they are adequate enough to drive my studio 100 vs'3 and still sound sweet. i used to have the rotel rmb-1075 to drive my centre and rears, but i felt there was a mismatch . i initially had 2 (drive my fronts) and then decided to add another 3 to match everything else. i know that the monoblocks are overkill for the rears, but i couldn't find a 2 channel amp that i liked.

as for the room, i just finished it in sept/oct. it has been @ a 1 yr project so far and i've still got to finish the second bathroom. i turned it from a 1.5 bath home to a 2 bath home. i never wanna do another remodel again. if i could nit pick at my set up. i think i should have added another 2 hdmi wall plates and maybe ethernet for the tv. right now i'm using samsungs wireless usb stick for the live reports.

i know that my fronts are too close together, but my room is barely 16ftx16ft. it might be overkill to some people, but i think it sounds and looks pretty sweet. the tv does look a bit high, but for my seating position its perfect
