She asked for a Bose system...

Seriously, I have no life.
Get her a pair of these and a Peachtree Decco.

Quad L-ite

Peachtree Decco

Probably the same price as the Bose and just as small.
I have the same tweeters in my speakers. I'd like to get more so I can build some surrounds and a center that match.

I removed all his thanks and tried again, but no go. Maybe I gave too many people too much rep?

My girlfriend asked me for a Bose system for her office today as a Christmas gift.
Easily persuaded and gullible. I say she's a keeper. :D

If not, I recall a nice photo of a girl dancing with a U.S.A. flag tie. ;)

BTW, did you ever ask if maybe she just doesn't like the people at her office?

I posted my actual girlfriend in the late Hot Girl Appreciation thread that got deleted. So some members have seen her (one guy I'm positive made the connection). The girl with the USA stuff on is just a friend I met there. Euoprean but LOVES america. Loves it.

What does it say when you try? Spread it around or Too much in the last 24 hours? There really shouldn't be a 'maybe'.

Let her just win this one man, and then you have one banked for when you want something for your setup. At least you'll never be there to listen to it.

Women have a mind of their own which are extremely irrational in some circumstances.. especially when dealing with clothing, house ware, design, relationships, etc. They just don't see the same things a man sees. For most men, especially on this forum, sound quality trumps aesthetics.. yet a woman would give more priority to aesthetics (like in this case) over sound quality. Woman like "cute" things rather than "macho" things. If the Bose is pleasing to her eyes, then it is likely pleasing to her ears too. I don't want to generalize too much about women, but this seems to be the case here.

Anyways, you could try to educate her about sound quality differences, but that won't get you far. She might find that you don't appreciate what SHE values, and think in terms of what YOU value. I agree with a previous statement that this isn't a fight you can win. You might try to compromise her position a little by not getting a Bose, but get something that you think she will find cute. I don't have any recommendations, but look for something small like the Bose and have lots of curves and simple to use. Gently discuss these Bose alternatives with her and see that she has lots of other options. That's the best you can really do in this situation.

The simple thing is, is that the Bose pictures you see make the product look better then it is. They're poorly built, and the fit and finish sucks.

Show her them, and the Orbs, you won't have any problems.

My girlfriend asked me for a Bose system for her office today as a Christmas gift. A Bose. One and a half years of watching movies on my M&Ks, listening to Bag End studio monitors, Dynaudio towers in my bedroom ... and she asks for a Bose?

I mean, granted we don't exactly talk about speakers all the time, but...damn...

Discuss. Use the back side of the page if necessary.
Short discussion:D

If you like her, get her a Bose for the office. You won't have to listen to it, most of the time, you only have to pay for it;):D
Also, remember, out of sight, out of mind. You will forget about it and she will be happy. Maybe you'll be rewarded;):D
Don't agonize over such trivial issues.

Don't be so surprised; there's plenty of us Europeans that hold the USA in quite high regard... we're just not that keen on the Neocons, that's all!

Taking the geek factor off the scale - yea, I can second the choice of Kirby vacuums, though I've also found that Miele are very good too.

I'm stunned to hear that out of you, stunned.
How many drinks did you have before posting that? :D
You may as well suggest Monster Cable for the speaker wire.

It is her office, right, not at home where he may have to bite his tongue. That is what she wants. I think it is best to obliged her and if she dislikes it after a while, or something, then it will all be on her.
If she want monster after the usual explanation, by all means.

Next, MidnightSensi is going to come back on here and say:
"My GF also want's a set of Monster Cables, doesn't matter what they are for, she just want's to wear them around her neck..."
