Actually, mtrycrafts is probably right. When a woman says, "I want this", she doesn't want to hear, "Ah yes, but the technical details of that model are inferior; this particular unit has better sound quality/gas mileage/build".

She wants to hear "Yes dear. And what colour would you like it in?"

If you're a real man, you'll buy her some nice small bookshelf speakers with fake Bose logo stickers on the grills. Maybe get her some white Orb Audio round speakers and try to convince her that a new model came out... haha.

Great idea, but for me there would be too much of a temptation to add one of those little circles "(R)" or "(TM)", but as an "(L)" and put it after the "o"...

Look at the SDI Technologies iHome iH51 Multimedia Speaker System

I don't know if you have an answer yet or not, but I came across a very good, maybe even excellent solution, that I am pretty sure she will like.

Get her an iPod ( if she doesn't) have one and this iHome iH51 docking station. The docking station is very chic loooking (she will like that) and will look very classy in her office. It has an AM/FM radio and a very nice clock display. There are two small cube speakers and a larger subwoofer ( still small).

I bought one for my son's birthday to go along with his iPod and the sound it produces is very good.

Speaking of Vac's, I bought a Kirby (not due to a salesman either). Sure they are heavy and such, but they are built like a tank and clean really well. Extremely reliable. I look at it as a one time purchase. Our carpet has never been cleaner, that I can say in confidence.

My mom used a Kirby for as far back as I can remember to at least when I left home for college. I don't know if they're built like that today, but...damn!

Anyway: as long as buying a Bose product doesn't actually kill a little piece of your soul, go ahead and buy it and make her happy -and everyone in her office will be impressed by her wonderful boyfriend - "wow, a Bose!"

Just draw the line there, though. Nothing for home use!

Seems alot like Orb audio, but with a few more attractive colors. Looking at reviews, there isnt much bass (but bose dosent either).

Everyone says they are better than Bose.

Yeah me too, I think the Orbs look way cooler. I ordered the Bose. She doesn't get to open it until Christmas though because she wrapped my gifts, sitting RIGHT NEXT to my desk, and I'm not allowed to open them early. I've picked it up and done some inspection though, like the 7 year old that I am, and I'm pretty sure its clothing.

Haha, I hope I get the green light. I'm redoing my apartment and crashing at my buddies flop house she isn't too happy about ("This place is like a crackhouse"). It doesn't help that my friends keep crashing on the floor and she tripped over one of them the other night. I'll be done with my apartment by Christmas though so she'll be happy and I'll take pics to show you guys the equipment! (I should take a pic of the situation now haha). But I am on THIIINNN ICCCEEE so Bose it is.
