I've driven thru Paducah. I thought it was funny when I was in the grocery store to see all of the 4H farm animal prize winner photos all over the place, heehee.

I spent a couple of days in Berea while driving cross country. Good times.
My aunt and uncle own one of the biggest farm supply stores in west ky, so I know first hand:eek:

Oh yeah, I remember Rex as well. He is originally from Owensboro, KY. Not too sure what he is doing nowadays. Well, you were not too far from me when you seen him.

Cheers,

Phil
My uncle is Jullan Carroll if that rings a bell;)

Hey Phil!

I got your double-wink comment about Oregon's roundball team, so I just had to jump in here. Good news that UK finally won a game this year. ;);) Actually, I like the school, have friends in Kentucky, and only hope for wins, especially against Louisville every year, but......:(

Just did a quick check. Over the last 3 years and also including the start of this year UK has an admirable record of 62-40. Over the same period, the Ducks have a record of 65-41. ;);) (Now you have another team to cheer for!) By the way, the Ducks are on ESPN2 in about 1/2 hour (9:00 PST), playing Alabama in the Maui Classic. There are 8 (!!) freshman on this year's Oregon team. Yikes.

There should be some good basketball on ESPN tomorrow night. The Maui Classic semis feature #7 Texas vs. #8 Notre Dame and #1 North Carolina vs. my baby Ducks (who crushed Alabama tonight).

Happy watching. I'll be playing happy hubby with Mrs. Tomorrow on our 25th wedding anniversary!

Hell there RJ. It appears that UK won their 2nd game now. The records of both Oregon and UK are very similar. The strange thing is that both teams are quite young as well. Who really knows how things will turn out. However, you can go ahead and put North Carolina down as one of the Final Four. I am most certain of it.:eek: In fact, I believe this could be their year yet again. Don't take me wrong, there are a lot of great teams, but North Carolina is in a league all to their own imho. Only time will tell. Have a great Thanksgiving RJ.

Cheers,

Phil

That is great RJ. Congrats on you and the wife's 25th buddy! :):) I may check out some bball if I can. Had to work over last night and today looks to be hectic. I guess it always is right before a major holiday. Anyways, that really is an accomplishment in that your marriage has lasted. Be sure that you both enjoy this wonderful day. Here is to another 25 years! Kudos to you both.

Cheers,

Phil

Hi, guys. I'm a big fan of College BB. ACC all the way....almost. I DETEST the Suck Heels.:( Never liked them, never will. I love to see them lose, especially to Duke, their hated rival. Wow, have there been some good games in that series, though!?

I'm a Clemson man, myself, but I like most of the other teams as well. The ACC has been down of late and from the early looks, it seems as though this will be another off year except for the Suck Heels, of course.

I really want to go to the ACC tournament one year. I tried to get my brother to go last year, but couldn't talk him into it. Old fart. I may wind up getting his youngest son to go if he won't. Crikey, I even offered to buy the confounded tickets and he wouldn't go:eek: Would have had to pay scalper's prices, too! The ACC tourney is still the hardest ticket in town to get!

Go Tigers!:D

Yeah, I can relate regarding the Tar heels. However, it is only fair to say that they are part of an elite group imho. I am and always will be a strong supporter of the SEC. Things really look to be quite interesting this year. Only time will tell. ;);) Have a great Thanksgiving.

Go Tigers. Go Wildcats.

My baby Ducks looked like a high school team against the Tarheels tonight. (Oregon couldn't make any shots.) And what kind of nickname is that?! ...Tarheels. Stupid name! :p;) They look like a pro team, tho'. Yikes. The best part of watching the game was looking at Hansbrough. What a dufous looking guy...eyes bulging out of his head...deer in the headlights look, mouth open catching flies, looking for all the world like a seriously brainless individual. :D

Yeah, Hansbrough may be a bit over-rated. However, the rest of the team is not. North Carolina is also very deep. Heck, there are at least 3-4 non-starters that could easily start on any given day. I would really like to see them get beat, but in all honesty I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. They may lose a game here and there. Perhaps, even get a scare here and there. But, when it is all said and done, North Carolina will be in the Final Four. Chances are real good, they will probably win it all. Only time will tell.

Cheers,

Phil

Mmwahhhaahhaaaa!!!! That's exactly how I feel about NC and ***sbrough. I can't say the prefix...it really isn't Christian of me:eek: That is one goofy looking guy. Sorry to see what they did to the Ducks last night. Crikey, the JV guys they had out there the last several minutes not only held their own against the Ducks, but extended the lead:eek:

When they get in league play, they WILL get knocked off by somebody. Too much pairity and too many big bullseyes on the Heels and the Devils.;) Those two teams get everybody's A game most every night.

Can't wait!

Nice post. I have some of the same hopes. However, I would not hold my breath so to speak about North Carolina getting bumped off. It probably will happen sooner or later, but in the end they will be there. You can count on that. Who knows though, anything can happen on any given day. Guess, we will just have to wait and see. ;);)

As a long-time Carolina fan, I gotta speak up here. Insults aside (Baby Ducks? Gimme a break :)), no one bothers to insult teams unless they are contenders .

The chances of the Tarheels going unbeaten through their ACC season are very slim. There is always at least one conference game where an opponent steps up to upset a nationally ranked team. Usually Carolina and Dook play each other 3 times if you include the conference tournament. It is unlikely that one team, no matter how good, will win all three. And it doesn't really matter because the tough conference play makes for a better team in March. There has been a very long love-hate relationship between UNC and Dook. The players all practice together during the summer, and they know each other quite well.

Phil - too bad about the Wildcats' loss. But a November loss can sometimes toughen up a young team for later in the season. We'll see. March is still a long way off.

Hi Swerd and thanks for posting. I really don't think Tomorrow meant any disrespect at all. He was implying that Oregon is a very young team. I do agree with you in that the chances of North Carolina getting beat this year is rather slim. But, beating a top team such as Duke (3) times will be extremely hard to do.

Kentucky's loss seems to have motivated them to do better. In fact, they have won their last (2) games by a good margin. Personally, I figured UK would not have beat North Carolina anyways, but was hoping that they would have kept it closer. Oh well, maybe next time. ;);) Things are really looking good for North Carolina this year. Roy Williams is one heck of a coach in that he knows how to motivate his team. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds, but I still say North Carolina will be there. Just hoping KY can make a good run and perhaps scare a few teams. It would be even better if they make it to the Elite 8. Once again, only time will tell. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Cheers,

Phil

'Baby Ducks' refers to my statement that there are 8 freshmen on the Oregon team. In case you don't know, the Oregon mascot is a duck. I'm sorry you took my joking to heart, Swerd, as I meant no insults. As I said, NC has a GREAT team this year.

Now go get some turkey and mashed taters and go relax with a good game. ;)
