Just remember fellas -- " 'tis more blessed to give than to receive..." :D :D :D

And to keep this thread "somewhat" on topic ;) -- I spotted $1.97/gal on the way to an install today ... about 1/2 mile north of my local station. :D
ARticle in the WSJ this morning showed pictures of $1.99 in a couple different places.

I think that is happening just to get people to vote a certain way. When the election is over the price will hit record highs to make new record profits. IMHO. :(

IIRC last election in '04 gas prices dropped for a while and then a bit under a year later hurricane Katrina hit and that's when it soared to over $3/gal overnight and it hasn't looked back... 'til lately.

It's not going to sway my vote, but I'll take the little bit of saved cash while it lasts, though!

Cheers,

Look closely at the criteria they use to judge that and you will see the reason for some countries ranking highly and others not so well. As in everything else, there is an agenda at play there. Apparently, Norway most closely meets the criteria set out by the global social engineers over at the UN.

Our government rolls out the results of this survey to show us how great a government they are. All it proves to me is that Canada is an advanced socialist nation with a hollow, stagnant economy that depends almost entirely on the strength of the US economy for our survival.
Better late than never Dave... Sometimes I try to provoke intentionally, he he
I really don't care if this is a better or worse country than other, but sometimes I wonder...

Probably most people in this forum do have a living standard better than 95% of the rest of the world, it could be an eyeopener to go to some other countries where things are a bit different, for instance if you're in trouble the Police will do nothing else than rob you for all your money, everywhere you go, you have to look over your shoulder, coz everybody everywhere is looking for an opportunity so screw you in any way they can, and everyone everywhere is corrupt... (with some exceptions of course)

Socialism or not socialism or whatever, people in North Europe, Canada and US are very lucky, no matter what we say, we live well, have no problems, so why should any of us complain about anything.....

And that we all are dependent on US financially, we probably are...

I've read about a guy that's bought Dark side of the moon 11 times to cater for different licensing issues on different media.....

But this thing, is just more horrible than horrible is, how much greed is it possible to show, Companies and organizations disclosing such attitudes and business practices must come to an end, we as consumers have the power to make that happen, if there are many enough opposing such things :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I think you are in the wrong place.....different post my friend

$1.99 per gallon this morning! If I remember correctly, it was running about $1.89 per gal just before Katrina hit, then it shot up and never came back down. Did you see Exxon's third quarter earnings? 14.8 billion freakin' dollars!!!!!:mad:

For the record, I haven't had to put gas in my old Lincoln Town Car for the duration of this thread. I drive it to work six days a week plus some errands and it still has half a tank. Perhaps this is why the price of gas doesn't concern me very much, except for the general effect fuel prices have on other commodities.

A little of both. It's a 4 minute drive to work and it's a 76 litre tank. Plus, my wife has her own car for work and we have a separate weekend car.

Wow, down to $2.119 today. I will fill-up tomorrow. ;);) Hope it just stays down for a good while. I am hopeful, at least, it will get down to $2 a gallon.

Cheers,

Phil
