After a lot of wire running and some frustration I now have the 3 zones up and running.

This all comes from the Denon 3808 in the main room. A Niles IntelliPad and MSU140 provides ZONE 2 control for the bedroom using the internal amp from the AVR. (thanks Craig)

Zone 3 uses an Audio Source Amp100 for power. This was a refurbished amp I got for 53 bucks but it may have an issue as when it was first plugged in it was making a clicking sound and kept shutting down. Changing the input from 1 to 2 corrected this but now the "auto on" doesn't seem to work. I will jack around with it and send it back if I can't get it to work properly.

Excellent! That looks great. I'm glad that you got it all set up, and good luck with the amp.

Seriously, I have got to get you to come over and do some work around my house. Your home improvement kung-fu is strong.

Looking Good.:D

I would call JR now and just see if you can exchange it. Problems like that don't get better and it does not make any sense that it would have made any difference.

Oh and Adam his proudest moment is that he has not read any of the Intellipad setup manual and through trial and error he has it working.;)

Trial, error and 400 PMs to you!

I am going to read my Denon manual next month and the Niles manual the month after that...I swear...

Wait a darn minute, I just figured out something...

Both of my amps got the "go ahead" from you and I have had issues with both of them. Maybe you are out to get me and I am just now catching on. Now that I think about it, there was some funny white powder in the box you sent me:eek:

No man, when I gave it a try it seemed more like Anthrax vs. happy powder!
Luckily your years of scotch drinking has enabled your body to build up enough resistance to toxins to allow you to snort Anthrax with the only result being disappointment. :)

How many guys do you know that are at home grilling a steak during the work week just 7 days after his boss and VP got fired?

Wait...maybe that's not smart...

Dang it.... I have hijacked my own thread again:D

They weren't fired because their sales department was under performing, were they? ;)
No they were fired because the VP's boss found out that the Dawg was carrying their a$$ and they figured they didn't need them.

Man, I just thought about this.

It was 1 year and 2 days ago when my old company restructured and I was the big dog that got let go.

Now I am a small dog and they didn't even notice me during the restructure of my new company.

It's not always a bad thing to be in that middle layer of employees that provide good bang-for-the-buck but don't really get noticed. You do your job, do it well, but aren't either (a) a newbie that hasn't quite learned enough to be worth their salary or (b) part of the upper layer that is now payed more than they are actually worth. That, and you haven't torqued off enough people to get the heave-ho when it's time to thin out the herd.

I know...too simplistic and doesn't account for politics.

Wow, you are so high-tech now, man.

I feel so outdated and "analog-ish".:D

Even if I got the Denon 5308CI, I wouldn't know how to use 90% of all the features!

Ut Oh...seems to have been a little user error involved here. I found a banana plug with a wire pulled almost all the way out. Got it back tight and the amp is working fine. The "auto on" issue is now corrected too, nothing a solder gun and a little time couldn't fix.

I would assume that could have fixed it but properly setting it up fixed it in my case.;):D

Dang it.... I have hijacked my own thread again:D
I would have been shocked if the thread actually stayed on topic for the whole first page.;)

I'm impressed with the results. It just seems like such a challenging project to undertake in the first place that I'm unlikely to even try to do it myself. Good job.
