This caught my attention too, what do you think of it? On the box, it said you can play all your WMP11 stuff via a wireless stream which rids my problem of the PS3 not being able to play in zone 2.
So far I am loving this thing! I just did a quick 3 point cal but it sounds good (the same) the GUI seems awesome, the 12v trigger is assigned properly and the volume display is huge and on my TV!

Nope, closed box. I could have got a good deal on the Elite too.

I dont know how many points yet. Just pulled it out of the box.
You will be rewarded for being open minded. You are going to like this thing when you see the larger volume display, onscreen volume display, high resolution GUI and get to use the independent crossover for each channels and listen to the highly acceptable sound quality of numerous internet radio channels using the Ethernet port. They are many more things to play with. In terms of sound quality, I have a 659 also, and I find the Denons sound just as transparent, no better and no worse.

Congratulations!

P.S. Don't forget to hook up the Ethernet to get the firmware updated.

I think you are correct. So far, I love everything I see about it. I have it up and running and have listened to a few songs and now I have a DTS-MA movie running. I am about to pour a drink and sink into the manual.

Thanks for all the help guys. I am certain I will have many questions to follow.

Crap, I dont have a long ethernet cable, is there an update that needs to be done?

Can you access the wireless control with zone 2? I think the previous docks would only give control on the main zone.

I would say yes, my 4308 got updated twice already. The last one was done only about 1 month ago so unless yours left the factory within the last month or so it will have an update. I don't think the update fix anything serious but it is fun to do it.

I am not sure about any type of network device. I guess I can just plug this thing into my CPU and play WMP11 with out buying anything else?

The price was marked at $1,699.98 but I had a 12% off coupon from BB for my B-Day. I handed it to the young man (TCU student) and he laughed and said, "I was going to give it to you for $1250". I shook his hand, paid him and walked out with a smile.
So I'm curious as to why he cut you such a good deal (if he did, that is).

You know I love Denon

Denon is king, baby. It's even made in Japan.:D

Denon 3808 (HTM): FR 20Hz-20kHz +/-0.0dB, 211wpc x 2 @ 8 ohms, 239wpc x 2 @ 4ohms, THD 0.004%, Crosstalk -88dB, SNR -107 dBrA. Great Specs, indeed.

The Volume Display is HUGE and the receiver looks AWESOME.

Just out of curiosity, if you could get it brand new from J&R Music world for $970, would you? Would it be worth the trouble of returning it to BB?

Oh, wait, did you put it on your BB card for 12 months interest free?:D

But you definitely have my approval stamp on the Denon AVR-3808CI!:D

I wish I could change my screen name to DenonDefinitive.

He said they are reducing the price from 1699 to 1499 this weekend and he seemed happy taking another 200 bucks off of that:D. Remember, I spend a lot of time with people before I try to negotiate things and I am a top dog salesman myself so it is not uncommon for me to get deals.
So I'm curious as to why he cut you such a good deal (if he did, that is).

No, paid cash.

I am not interested in trying to get a better deal, happy at this point.

Nope, just wondering if I should have tried to get a deal on the 4308;):D
Spilled drink or blown tweeter? Remember you just pissed off your dealer it is not a good time to fry anything in your speakers.
