Could be mainstream where you are but not where I am... Other than the last two singles, nobody's ever heard of them...

I guess they're more well known in the states?
I live in British Columbia. Wait, you know, EVERYONE? Cool. They have mainliners join their group for a song here and there, which is whats giving them recognition. Either way, I'm not a fan.

I'm chilling out to an SACD of Jascha Heifitz and the New Symphony of London playing Max Bruch's Violin Concerto #1 and Scottish Fantasy plus Henri Vieuxtemps' Violin Concerto #5. It's an awesome disc.

Holy ****, is that sarcasm I sense? :D Well I don't know if you consider this forum as know me, but I happen to like it... I guess you have to be somebody who spent a number of years in his youth thinking metallica was the ONLY thing worth listening to, and I also happen to like classical on occasion, and I'm half-finnish and like supporting the mother country. So I download all the Finnish cello metal I can get for free! ;)

Jeez, one guys bursting my bubble, the next one is insulting my musical tastes, I'm beginning to think this place isn't the friendly rosy place it first appeared to be!

I didn't mean to offend you. I love Finland and was just in Pori for the Jazz fest. I was being sarcastic for sure. I am not a fan but I don't knock anyone for listening to them...:D

Yeah I'm just being overly sensitive being the new guy... :D

Hmmm, what else is the "My Downloads" folder???

- UNKLE
- Massive Attack
- Queen
- Linchpin by Fear Factory
- Yoav

Recent albums (vinyl) that I thought was worth spending money on...

- Metallia (black album)
- Dire Straits, brothers in arms
- DJ Shadow, endtroducing

I'm still trying really hard to find something I hear on the local college station one night, that they called Reggae. It had a slow (probably 80-100 bpm) heavy bass track to it, seemed almost like some sorta trance. It sounded excellent but I didn't get the name of the artist... I'm kicking myself for now catching the name. :(

They just played a show here, so the local rock stations were talking about them and playing their stuff over the air waves.

SheepStar
The only thing they've ever played here is "I don't care" and "I'm not jesus" and neither of them got much attention, so you don't really hear the band name on the radio ever. I just happened to hear they were Finnish, and looked them up, and liked the style (when I'm in the right mood).

But I'm also not a typical 27 year old, I'll put on an old record of some classical (Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, etc) and sit back with my stereo pushing 100 dB and close my eyes and just listen.

At the same time, I LOVE Rammstein, so chances are my musical tastes are not the norm... :p

:edit Also, I think BC has a totally different music scene than southern ontario. Hell, everything is different in BC!

Besides local indie bands its probably about the same. The location really doesn't matter in Canada, the same music scenes exist everywhere. I have noticed Sheep has pretty similar tastes in music as me. I am from Southern Ontario:).

The Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath.

It has taken me some time to warm up to this album, but damn, I can't get enough of it. Really digging the new drummer too. He's freaking quick, and tight.

More Video's when youtube stops ****ing up.

^^^ Cool idea linking youtube...

Here's one of my fave songs at the moment... starts out mellow but I like the drum beat a lot.

DJ Shadow - Dolphins were Monkeys

Another big favorite of mine.
DJ Shadow - Blood on the Motorway

I am listening to the two-channel stereo layer of LINN Selektions, LINN AKP 245, a SACD sampler disc.
