(However, I live in very red TX. So, it really doesn't matter anyway.)
I know the feeling! I voted against Bush twice, and it did no good at all.
Hopefully, we can keep the right wingers out this time around.
(As for Palin, anyone who is "born again" is obviously too impervious to logic to be trusted with running a country!)

Voting against all Republicans, whatever the office!:)

(Note: I am tolerant of the vast majority of religions. It is extremists like born-again baptists and muslim fundamentalists that I have serious issues with.)

When you add all that up it's like billions of people you have issues with. You could go to some of their meeting places and tell them in person what you think of them.
Let me suggest a nice NRA meeting to start with.

Within any religion, only a tiny fraction are of the extremist nutcase variety. Not only is the total far less than a billion, I doubt if it is much over a few hundred thousand. I keep hoping that the "rapture" will come and take them all away, leaving the earth for those of us with at least some sense (as opposed to, for example, Palin.)

The NRA is about guns. They are not a religious organization.

I wanted to edit my post above but got to it too late. Let's just say that that my beliefs would be in line with tolerance and instead of razzing you about your intolerance of whatever, I might have applauded your tolerance of whatever. You know what I mean?
Now we can kiss and make up again. :D

I just spent 10 days in Norman. I can't imagine one of their NRA meetings would have a shortage of Born Agains who might be delighted to enlighten you to what guns and God are all about. I just assumed you were anti-gun also. :)

Edit: Plenty of Republicans there too. :)

I'm pro-gun. Anti-gun control.

And intolerant of religious extremism in any form.

i don't really like talking about politics in an open forum, there's just too many ignorant/intolerant people out there. (but dont mind me)

but i especially don't like ignorant people generalizing religions just so they can insult certain people.

i would recommend you keep religion out of this politics thread. you know who you are.
i'm certainly itching on the ban button.

Sure it does. I've learned a lot from hearing the different viewpoints and following the various links. Sometimes, the whole point is simply to share info and discuss points of view. It's not always about argument for argument's sake or trying to turn another's opinion to yours.

BTW, we are also in the middle of a federal election up here in Canada, only we have five equally unpalatable parties to choose amongst. It almost makes me wish for something as simple as McCain/Obama.

Have to share this one:
