Will biden resign last minute if the Obama Ticket falls behind and Run Hillary last minute?
The dems did it in NJ a few years back When as they started to Loose had the candidate resign due to "illness" and then ran a former big name. if the Mcain ticket pulls ahead Biden "gets sick" and then they run Hillary with no time for Debates.

I'm thinking the same thing with Palin. More and more dirt about her is coming out. I wouldn't be surprised to see her pull out due to an unforseen complication.

It's unlikely the democrats will fall behind. Sure, national polls show something like 48% (Obama) to 44% (McCain), but what counts is the electoral college. All projections including those from Republican sources show Obama has a significant lead in the college. But to answer your original question, I don't think Biden would resign if such an event occurred. But who knows...

Nope.

Barring something truly remarkably scandalous, neither ticket will do this. It would look weak and desperate.

If this happens to either ticket, it'll be Palin. Biden? No friggin' way.

If the Dimocrats are smart, they'd dump 'Racist Joe' for Hillary. Otherwise...it's 4 more years of the GOP. Then McCain will retire, and it will be 8 years of Palin!!

The first female US president will be a Republican....and her name is Sarah.

Love her....

The armed forces will love saluting this woman.

When I heard her speech, I felt a tingle run up my leg.

Sincerely,

Seriously, I have no life.

$21 mil earmark as a mayor, $160 mill as a governor for 2008, another $190 mil for 2009; some reformer
Was she shoved down McCains throat by the party? He wanted Lieberman or Ridge.
Tried to ban books?
Oil Pipeline? Hardly hers.

The tickets will play out as they stand I'm sure. The last time I looked Palin's approval rating was equal to Obama's already.

I'm sure it will be a close race and neither party will back away from a fight at this point.

New life for this thread. The most important decision of Obama's career to date and he screwed it up. Biden just came out and said that Clinton was a more qualified VP candidate than he is. This can play out a number of ways, including Biden setting himself up for a resignation.

It seems as though Biden is questioning Obama's judgment over his VP pick (and who would know better than Biden himself whether or not he was the best pick). So, does Biden stay on as damaged goods with the American people knowing full well that he doesn't believe he is the most qualified for the job? Or does he resign and let Clinton become the nominee? Either way, Obama's judgment has to be in question.

But if Clinton becomes the nominee, The Phenom had better watch his back. If Clinton can successfully push a VP nominee out of her way, imagine what she will do to get rid of Obama if he wins and only he stands between her and the presidency. She's like a Pit Bull and Obama's eating from her food dish.

I wonder what the McCain camp will do with Biden's admission. To me, it comes down to a question of judgment. If he didn't get his VP pick right the first time, is this the man you want defending America from terrorist attacks, negotiating with rogue nations, managing the economy. Making the right decision the second time isn't good enough in those situations.

I firmly believe if they make any real attempt at bringing Hillary back, the campaign and maybe even the party will implode. There's no way they can sell that change, not now. It will come across as the very worst case of pandoring and which will reallly turn off a lot of people. Obama supportors are broken down into these relative groups: The people who just think it's cool to have this young hip, charismatic guy as president, those who would never vote for a Republican no matter what, and those who actually believe in him. It's the last group who would be completely shaken by such a move.

The dem party always miscalculates the pulse of America. They were all for Hillary until Obama's star began to rise and they basically toss her aside and played sheep like the rest. They never once thought that an old guy, a Republican, could even have a chance against him. They just always fail to recognize that on any given day the country is 55/45 liberal/conservative or visa versa on any given day. You can't thumb your nose and pretend on Monday the 45% are hilljacks or religious zealots and on Tuesday when it shifts to 55% think they're all stooges and still come out on top. It just hasn't worked for them. Despite the media lovefest, and how this guy has been propped up the way he has, he still has not surged past McCain.... even before Palin. For many, it's just the blind arrogance of the party that turns so many people of to the Democratic Party.

They are having trouble digging up dirt on Sarah Palin, she isn't the typical dirty politician.
Since the media’s ongoing effort to slander Palin is backfiring, the Obama campaign has dispatch an army of lawyers and private investigators to Alaska to dig up dirt on Palin.

The so-called alleged “Troopergate” scandal; simply isn't one.

Joe Biden has skeletons in his closet, and he knows it; at the very least he was caught 'twice' plagiarizing.
That brings Biden's character into question, and compared to Palin, who may lack in some experience. She makes up for it with demonstrating strong character, when she cleaned up the Republican party in Alaska.

Unfortunately, the way politics works in the USA is, they all have dirt on each other.
So they can somewhat control each other. The problem here is Sarah Palin isn't the typical lawyer turned politician, like Obama and Biden.

So it brings us to the network news this afternoon.
Heard that Obama and Bill Clinton are having a meeting today.

Playing devil's advocate; I wonder if Hillary will be warming up in the bullpen after that meeting?

Biden's entitled to his opinion. I for one believe Obama made the right choice choosing him over Clinton. No doubt, it was a stupid thing for Biden to say; but you have to give him some points for being honest.

Palin will sink herself. There's still close to two months to go till the general election. Palin's charm will wear off quickly and McCain's attacks will get old. They should have waited till they were closer to November as the bump they got over the last week will be needed then. I would expect Obama to get a bit nastier in October resulting in a bump as his attacks will be fresh in voters minds and they won't feel old.

Palin will sink herself.

You think? How?

Palin's charm will wear off quickly and McCain's attacks will get old. .

I would agree if only it weren't genuine. I think the people who like her will continue to do so because she's real. Those on the left who despise her for no other reason than she's a Republican will continue to hate her, lie about her, insult her, and smear her and her family. I don't see much changing in the "Palin factor" good or bad.

You just really can't wait that long. But I think you're right, but it won't be so much Obama himself, but his surrogates, who will do most of the dirty work. He's fortunate in that regard that he has the more mainstream media and hollywood to do that for him. The media, even outlets like CNN and MSNBC have been so pathetic in their journalistic duties. They've been picking up on any bullcrap story on any blog and just mouthpeice it to the world without any fact checking. One example was the photochopped pic of Palin in a bikini with an AK47. In their coverage, they never once stated in the entire piece that the photo was faked. The days following, their excuse was that iwas so obvious that they felt they didn't need to state that. That's direct from CNN not some right wing source.

So I think the ugliness is just beginning and I find it's the left that usually are the most vile and hypcritical... especially in the blogosphere.

This is going to be a very close race. I find it interesting that they're now comparing Obama's who's the #1 guy to the Palin who's the #2. Obama's camp has been very strategic in that, but if you can see past that, it's a pretty silly comparison because it leaves the Republican #1 out on a different level.

I still think this can go either way. The next few weeks, when the debates are in full swing, will really galvanize those who still have not made up their mind and may bring to light some issues that maybe those who have had not thought of.
