You think? How?
Palin's charm will wear off quickly and McCain's attacks will get old. .
I would agree if only it weren't genuine. I think the people who like her will continue to do so because she's real. Those on the left who despise her for no other reason than she's a Republican will continue to hate her, lie about her, insult her, and smear her and her family. I don't see much changing in the "Palin factor" good or bad.
They should have waited till they were closer to November as the bump they got over the last week will be needed then. I would expect Obama to get a bit nastier in October resulting in a bump as his attacks will be fresh in voters minds and they won't feel old.
You just really can't wait that long. But I think you're right, but it won't be so much Obama himself, but his surrogates, who will do most of the dirty work. He's fortunate in that regard that he has the more mainstream media and hollywood to do that for him. The media, even outlets like CNN and MSNBC have been so pathetic in their journalistic duties. They've been picking up on any bullcrap story on any blog and just mouthpeice it to the world without any fact checking. One example was the photochopped pic of Palin in a bikini with an AK47. In their coverage, they never once stated in the entire piece that the photo was faked. The days following, their excuse was that iwas so obvious that they felt they didn't need to state that. That's direct from CNN not some right wing source.
So I think the ugliness is just beginning and I find it's the left that usually are the most vile and hypcritical... especially in the blogosphere.
This is going to be a very close race. I find it interesting that they're now comparing Obama's who's the #1 guy to the Palin who's the #2. Obama's camp has been very strategic in that, but if you can see past that, it's a pretty silly comparison because it leaves the Republican #1 out on a different level.
I still think this can go either way. The next few weeks, when the debates are in full swing, will really galvanize those who still have not made up their mind and may bring to light some issues that maybe those who have had not thought of.
