Here's my apartment theater (until I change something again :))

Wires hidden with media:

And these two keep me on my toes and love ATS acoustic panels...

That's an apartment?!? The first thing that popped into my head was "oh, sweet mother of all that is good and pure."

That set-up is AWESOME! The wall coverings and attention to detail set it apart. Very cute cats. Sure looks like the same one to me - perhaps it's just one with a split personality? :)

Excellent job, Jeremy. Very, very nice.

I like his jvgillow's system too. I don't if it's the bang-for-the-buck speaker/sub setup, or the identical speakers all around, or the dark color of the room, or the wise use of space, or maybe it's everything. It's a good example how you can turn a regular room into a home theater without spending a fortune, especially one in an apartment. Good stuff!

They are sisters, so they look very similar but one is a little bigger.

Holy Guacamole!

You know what you're doing Jeremy. From the treatments, to the black out, to the ideal soundstage. Can I ask what your speakers, sub, PJ, and screen are? Thanks!

btw, you have excellent taste in hi-def players. :p If only cause I own those too. No really though, great selection in the electronics top to bottom. Congrats.

Equipment list:

http://my.fit.edu/~jgillow/htgear.html

I've been "into" HT for the past ~7 years on a relatively tight budget so this is just the latest configuration, and I'm never ready to say that any of it is "ideal" but this is probably the closest I've gotten so far.

Now I'm just waiting for the encore tweeter upgrades for the X-SLS from Skiing Ninja, that will be my next upgrade. Then HDMI pre/pro.

Now, that is a list! :)

7 years on a tight budget. I'd like to see what you would do with a "big" budget. :D

Thank you for sharing.

I can't believe you can put all of that gear in an apartment. Your gear took up almost half of my house during the last GTG. AMAZING

You really need to start your own theater thread.

Damn nice set-up for an apartment I must say. I am basically dealing with the same issues, Im in a condo, yet I have no where near the amount of power going through that room. Was that your living room? Where did this not so small SVS Ultra that i got from you sneak into the mix of things? I noticed you put some sort of carpeting under everything. Any reasoning besides acoustical perfection :). Thanks again for this SVS I love this thing! Do you have your sls encores on stands? I love the way that looks. Cheers to having a nasty f'ing set up at a young age. I am currently finishing pre-wire for my new condo and will be glad to post some pictures when I finish. For the time being my list is as folows:

M2200 Outlaw Audio (for my CS Ultra)
Pioneer VSX-01TXH
Energy C-5 front mains
Energy C-C1 center channel
Klipsch RF something or anothers for my rears
SVS CS Ultra, thanks to Mr. Gillow
PS3, for BD, SD DVD, and CD content
Mitsu HC6000BL, Projection is the way to go, if you have the space!
Da-Lite 120" high contrast screen, cant remember model #
All 12AWG mono price CL-2 rated speaker wiring
Monoprice 22AWG 1/3a HDMI, in wall as well.
Soon to come, power conditioners such as APC or Panamax, Universal remote, and when the energies kick the bucket maybe some Paradigm Studios, but if those SLS Encores are really doing it for Gillow then I might as well save me self some coin.

Any suggestions on other equipment you guys feel I need, let me know. I just landed a big account and the money is burning a hole right through my pockets!!

Cheers,
Joe

PS: Jeremy where did you get those stands, modest and clean looking, exactly what I am after.

jvgillow,

1. Are those bengal cats?
2. How do you manage all that bass being in an apartment (neighbors, etc.)?
3. How do you overcome light being reflected off the screen and onto the ceiling?
4. Do you have renter's insurance, haha

Yes, bengals. I have had no problems with bass in this apartment. One of the few that doesn't seem to transmit much to the neighbors I guess. Plus I don't really blast it all of the time either. Quality over quantity, that sort of thing. The ceiling doesn't bother me at all. The screen isn't very reflective to begin with, and I can't paint the ceiling since it's a rental. Yeah I do have insurance.

Majorloser will like this first photo I'm sure
And no, I definitely did not need 4 of them.

Onkyo 705 as of yesterday, HDMI ftw.

hey jvgillow, I used your setup as an example of the 3 identical speaker array here recently.

Just curiously, have you considered framing up something with GOM over the 4 subs + 3 speakers? I was just talking about false walls here today, and I wonder if I did it all over again, if that's something I would do. Too late now. I suppose in your setup, that could get pretty tight with the display height . . . congrats again.
