Cables should be heard, not seen... (actually they shouldn't be heard either, explains why I don't have any kids).:D
Well, if I had $10,000 cables, you better believe I want everyone to see them!!!:D

I think the reason most people hide their cables is because the cables look ugly.

But when you have super-cool looking cables, why hide them?:D

Right now Rickster is carrying more credibility around these parts than you...
Hmmmm, now its a contest to crown tthe king nerd? I am not in competition and what I said was true, most gear doesnt have tone controls, you can try to start a fight by slinging insults but just like most nights you are likely just playing with yourself:eek:

I'd rather put the money where it counts: SPEAKERS. I guess your either a sizzle or steak person. You're correct, my cables are ugly as sin. I soldered all my own interconnects. As Han Solo said: She may not look like much, but she has it where it counts.

Here's the thing, if you're spending $10-$20k on cables, it's doubtful you're comprimising your speaker budget.

It's actually pretty hard to get your head around what it's really like to have a ton of money. Two years ago, a friend of mine, more of a friend of a friend really, bought a $1.2mm offshore tournament fishing boat... CASH! We went to got pick it up on the other coast and bring it back around the keys to the Gulf side where we live. Think about how much money you must really have to spend that kind of money on a boat. You're not squirrelling it away each month in a slush fund, nor are you saying, "Well... we'll get the boat, but we won't be able to afford that vacation."

It just doesn't work that way.

If I had all the money, I would get all Kimber Kables or the likes.:D

I've owned Kimber Kable, Audioquest, Monster, & Vampire Wire in the past. It's just too expensive. There is nothing wrong with expensive wires except for the cost of it. If you have the money for it, more power to you.:D

I know most people would not buy that $500 Denon D-Link cable either:D. But if I had the money, I would.:D

Right now I have 100% Blue Jeans Cables for everything, which is good enough for me. But it's cool for others to have more expensive cables.
But why do you want to support "snake oil"? This is right off the Kimber Kable website:

"Setting the Standard"

"In 1979 this classic design put KIMBER KABLE on the map and after improvements over time, is still considered the reference for affordable loudspeaker cables. Millions of feet of this remarkable cable have been sold. The construction consists of four brown and four black conductors that utilize our proven braiding technique. The aggregate wire size is two 14 awg conductors. Even the most basic systems, old and new, will benefit significantly from this legendary performer. When demonstrating KIMBER KABLE to a new dealer, this cable is used with the most modest system available. With 4PR, the system performs as if costing twice as much. Bass and treble frequencies are allowed their full extension, while dynamics emerge unrestrained. The 4PR is also an excellent cable for professional and studio use due to its inherent ability to reject noise in any cable length."
This is total BS :)

Just got my long waited for MartinLogan speakers this 4th July, so it really was quite a bang for me! I used Tributaries SP SF Silver plated OFHC AWG 12, with DLT10 gold plated banana jacks both ends. I also got the Butler TDB2250 Highbred Tube Amp= 400X@4ohms. All I can say if I spent more then I should have, the sound is three dementional, side to side front to back. The speaker wire is so impressive, I bought extra to decorate my Christmas tree this year to impress my friends.

Seriously, I have no life.
... But at the same time, I can't prove that no one else can.
.
You are right on that:D They have to demonstrate that they indeed can. Even James Randi got involved in this with his $1mil prize. ;) In th eend, the test didn't happen as the excuses from the subject kept on piling up. :D
Another person, was going to challenge Randi and had a pretest at home:eek:
Very expensive gear and 5 figure speaker wires in buy-wire configuration, still he didn't pass his pretest. :D

And, who would have time to listen then. Looking at them will be enough satisfaction:D

No one is insulting. There is more to audio than having a straight face all the time and being serious. Relax, have some fun:D

... I am sure that in a blind test I could pick out a cable made of wood vs copper 100% of the time...
When is that test. I want to be present:D:D

But, interestingly, at audio frequencies, the current does penetrate to the center

If your moving to another audio site, let me know, I like where you are comimg from, and every comment you make is a very interesting and contructive. You are not trying to be part of a group that like to pat each other on the back, and never say anything that they feel the rest of there group would not like hearing. WALK TALL!;)

Don't let the door hit you in the Arse on the way out.
