Wow i seen this movie just an hour ago and i cant believe the language it had in it. I can stand a few words now and then but this movie is one of the worst ive seen with the f-bomb. I couldnt recommend this with a good conscious to anyone. If the potty mouths werent bad enough, the bloody violence and lack of reguard for life makes this one a real piece of garbage to me. This is all my opinion of course, im not knocking anyone who liked it, but im sorry i seen it. My wife and I took my Bro and his wife out to dinner and a movie for his wifes B-Day, it is what she wanted to see. We dinned at OutBack Steak house so all wasnt a loss :D

Peace,
Tommy

I saw this movie the other day. I thought McAvoy did the best job in the movie. Overall the movie was kind of weak. The opposing bullets colliding constantly was quickly annoying.

However, the one redeeming scene in the movie is when he goes all out and shoves his hand gun you know where in that guy. That scene blew me away.

Seriously, I have no life.
Unless he's hallucinating I believe he did say he saw one.:D To answer the question though, yes there is at least one trailer out now. You could watch it on your computer, but I don't know how long it would take (I seem to remember you saying you had either a slow computer or connection:D).
No, it is me that is slow:D
I looked on line at the On Line movie Database but didn't see that one.
I will look again, or google for it?

I saw "Wanted" over the weekend.

I give it a "7" out of "10" rating.

It was good and kind of fun and cool, but not great.

Not to give any details away, but ...if I had something important I wanted to say, I would have YELLED very loudly and very often -- not wait until the very end to say it.

I give it the "why didn't they pull out the F-bombs and gratuitous bestfriend-girfriend scene and rate it PG-13" rating.

Lots (LOTS) of loose ends, too. In general I found it to be a lot of lost potential. I'd give it 9/10 in potential and 5/10 in actual execution. If I could I'd do a "take-back" on this movie and go see something else. I hate that Hollywood is likely counting my revenue as 'approval' of this one.

I agree that the sex / nudity was not necessary. I didn't feel the language was out of place, though it could have been toned down as well. I don't have a problem with the final product though. It was a popcorn flick and it gave me exactly what I expected of it and even a little more. Going into a movie like this with the expectation of substance is a mistake.

I figure this movie is NC-17, but they only rate it R? The violence alone in this movie warrants a stiffer rating. Any foul language that connects in front of or behind "God"......... isnt ok with me.

I didnt buy the tickets with expectations of this movie being that bad. I do expect an R rated movie to be less violent with less grafic voilent scenes, and i expect language to not include the F-bomb or anyone using my God's name in vain.

Perhaps you should review other movies with an "R" rating. The F-bomb is par for the course, as are any other manner of profanities. Don't push your beliefs on other people and stick to "PG" fair if thats how you feel.

I agree with you that the kind of language used isn't necessary, it's not necessary for anyone. However, I do believe you are quite unfamiliar with how the rating system works. I haven't seen a NC-17 rated films released at any of my local theaters recently, if ever. Those types of ratings are typically reserved for films that don't see the majority, again if any, theaters.

Also, PG-13 films are allowed to drop the F-Bomb once, if they drop it twice or more it becomes rated R.

.....do you?
Here is the MPAA's current definition. Everything you have mentioned falls within this context. Perhaps you should seek out entertainment that is not rated R and does not insult "your" god.

"An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about R-rated motion pictures in determining their suitability for their children. Generally, it is not appropriate for parents to bring their young children with them to R-rated motion pictures."

As an aside, for those interested in the hypocrisies of our rating system, check out "This Film Is Not Yet Rated."

"my" God is a big fellow and he can take care of himself........i only spoke of my displeasure in the fact that the dialog in this movie took Gods name in vain. Maybe you should read more carefully.
as for the rating info you posted, anyone can find better more detailed info on Wikipedia.

NC-17 rating sates: May contain very strong/sexual/offensive language, strong explicit nudity, very strong/gore/disturbing violence, or strong drug abuse.

this movie certianly falls in the NC-17 category, in my view atleast. we could argue till we are blue in the face about the rating system. One thing will remain the same, some find things offensive and some dont, i gave my honest evaluation of this film. anyone who reads my review can make up their own mind. If they arent concerned with the things mentioned, and are comfortable with viewing it, then they will view it. If by reading my review, they dont like what they hear, they will stay away from it.

You are mearly arguing the rating system, not offering anything valuable to the film review. I think i read a post in this thread where you mention you havent even seen this movie.......go see it then talk about ratings. If you wish to discuss Religon any further, please do it in PM with me or a Mod.

As Always....PEACE,
Tommy

Personally, I did not care for the language either. The sex was not needed if you ask me. However, I still thought the movie was decent as I have seen far worse. Besides, I kinda liked the rear-end shot of Angelina myself.........LOL!!!! :p:p Who knows, it may have been a double and not really her rear-end.:rolleyes:

We've seen plenty of Angelina in other movies, so it would not surprise me in the least if it was actually her and it was breif at most.

While some of the items mentioned were not totally necessary, I don't think this movie crossed the line, nor did it try to present itself as a family movie in any way, shape or form. R to me means inapropriate and that may take a variety of forms, so you can't go into movie with that rating and expect to NOT be offended on some level, especially if your personal beliefs are like yours unreal. It is kind of like saying you want to go into a bar to hang out with friends but you are offended by people getting drunk.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
