Parking will be a problem since I can't fit 20 cars in my driveway. I'd like to try and save room for the guys who are bringing gear with them. If anybody is willing to volunteer carpooling from their house it would be greatly appreciated.

We will also be doing some setup on Friday if some of the locals want to come on by and maybe drop off their stuff earlier.

Heck, never ate sushi, but given it is being served like that I am more than willing to try it. In fact, now I am hungry.........LOL!!!!

In all seriousness, just want to wish everyone a good time at Major's place. Be sure to drink a few for me. Wish I could be there as I am sure it will be a lot of fun. Hope someone takes some pictures and posts them.

News Flash

Per Craigsub from Tweak City Audio:

GIZMO production has begun, and we are looking to get several production samples in house by July 10, with the full allotment of 400 to be shipped shortly after that.

We are planning on getting a sample to the Florida GTG at majorloser's place for their July 12 meet.

Emotiva Sale

Just in case anybody has seen the news, Emotiva is running a great sale on the ERM-1's and ERD-1's through July 6th. I have these in my home right now for the GTG. Granted, I've been too busy to write up a formal review. But this is an awesome sale for anybody interested. For those of you coming to the GTG you'll get a chance to play with these in person before the sale ends. They might even be willing to extend the offer a little more for those who attend the meet (never hurts to ask them while they're here).

I would probably say they are a good comparison to the Usher S-520's. They are a sealed cabinet so the bass response is a little lower than some of the ported designs. But the overall performance is quite excellent. I'm sure Emotiva had designed these from the very beginning to be paired with their sealed 12" subwoofers.

I have run them side-by-side with the RBH TK-5C's that I own. I think the Emotiva speakers are a better design and more accurate speaker compared to the TK-5C's. The TK-5 Cs' had better bass extension than the Usher's in the 2007 Audioholics Bookshelf Faceoff and they attributed that to woofer bottoming out. The Emotiva ERM-1's don't have that problem. And they also have extra setting that many companies don't even think about; Tweeter adjustment, Boundary compensation and two sets of binding post.

Not bad when you consider the price.

If nothing calamitous happens between now and then I too will be coming from Tampa, but I may end up driving myself so after the GTG I can catch I-95 south, head to Miami and visit my family down there. If I change my mind, I am definitely open to car-pooling.
