I was shocked when I heard Hugh Laurie speaking voice for the first time in an interview at the superbowl walking down the red carpet. His actual speaking voice is nothing like it is in the show, I would have never known.

Yeah I cannot think of any other actor on television right now that is better than him. He does the limp very well also when walking with the cane. They found the perfect actor for this character for the show.

Funny you mention that, he actually holds the cane on the wrong side per doctors orders. They bring it up in one episode when his arm starts hurting.

I have a House Costume ready for an up coming superhero's party. Naturally, House is who I'm going as.

Curious to how much Hugh Laurie makes per show. I know he won't make James Gandolfini (Sopranos) or Seinfeld type money per show but he must do very well.

I was similarly shocked when he was on one of the late night shows (Leno? Conan?). He looked and dressed like House but no limp, no pills, a good sense of humor and smile and a proper British accent. Since I don't recall having seen him prior to House, it was really disorienting.

Yes it is disorienting seeing him "normal", but I think that is because of the brilliance of his acting. I much prefer the unhappy, junkie, brilliant doctor. The downside, he will be typecasted for the rest of his career, but that happens with all great actors in television.

That's the danger of being such a good actor on TV. In a movie you probably do a memorable role once or twice, but on TV, it's twenty something episodes per season. After a couple of seasons, a guy like Laurie BECOMES House. The fact that he does it so well means that a transition to something post-House will be hard. It doesn't help that a couple seasons in the actor gets good enough at the role that it's like putting on socks.

It's probably been mentioned previously but the "Inside the Actors Studio" interview with him was very good. He's certainly talented and affable(sp?)...wait did I even try to use the word affable? I'm not even close to that cultured.

I cant wait for season 5. I'm crazy for the show! A show worth watching.

Characters I like.
House himself ofcourse. Annoying but very interesting.
Cuddy --- Hmmmmmm, what can I say? Too Hot.
Foreman. The only one able to stand up to House.

But most of all I love House's obsession with Cuddy's arse.


House: "Skirt that tight, you got no secrets. Skirt that tight, I can tell if you've got an IUD."

My wife loves this episode. She liked House's reaction to Cuddy bending over and shouts OMG!
