I have to ask... Are you fredfish of the Fred Fish shareware scene from from the mid 80's through the early 90's? Just in case you are...
LOL, the OP is from Belgium.:D Going through the pictures and confirms that he is not the Fred Fish of computer world.:)

Wouaw,

Hello to you and good festive season.
I am extremely touched by your compliments and j'essayerais soon to answer your questions.

No, I am not the "Fred Fish," but I took that name in memory of the software in the public domain that there were about Commodore Amiga. I was a fan of these products in the 90's.

Frederic.

Hello, and thank you for your remarks.

The installation will be mounted in a new listening room. The look will be completely adapted to the look of the entire hifi. Once everything is in order I put new photos on my site and keeps you posted.

Good week for you,
Frederic.

Beautiful setup Fredfish. Looks like a clone of the Abbey Road Studios control room setup. Thanks for posting, I look forward to more photos.

Yeah. One of his speakers probably cost more than my whole set-up.
X2 BUT .... cost isnt everything and there are systems out there that would compare for much less although not bearing the B&W logo. Not taking anything away from Freds beautiful system. I too if had that kind of money would have B&W in atleast one of my many rooms :D

Oh no there aren't! Those speakers are excellent, and among less than a handful that can compare. The current US MRSP is $23,000 per pair, for the 800Ds. I was listening to my friends pair in St. Paul Minnesota yesterday. When we auditioned speakers, we felt the 800D was the better speaker. Honestly with speakers like those, the other 5 channels add very little. Two excellent speakers beat 7 mediocre speakers any day.

I put in a 7.1 system, because I had the speakers and amps, but really the other channels are a marginal addition compared to the front two, at least that is what I find. Good speakers like that produce an impressive 3D sound stage. My friend is very content with his two channels. His amplification, DVD/SACD and FM tuner are all McIntosh.

So I know exactly the level of performance you have. Enjoy, and thanks for the pictures. If I did not roll my own, the 800Ds would be my choice.

Maybe it just a matter of oppinion and depends on who you talk to and like I said I wasnt trying to downgrade his system at all. I've heard B&W"s in person and im not sure what model but they were but they were about 4 or 5ft tall and sounded incredible and I think they were upwards of 35000 a speaker  and yes I personaly have heard Speakers too that sound just as good in 2 channel if not better than 7.1. Im not going to mention names but they sounded equaly as good if not better for a fraction of the cost. That being said I dont want to turn Freds thread into a peeing contest but I had to respond to your no there arent any or few speakers that compare. Just my 2 cents
