You finally gave up on waiting for Panny eh? :D
Yes, timing is everything. I guess Panny wants to wait around and do it right with profile 2.0 and all that, but I just can't wait, especially when the due date keeps on moving forward to June and who knows when.

You may hate us now, but after your Denon DVD-3800DCI shows up, we're likely to be the ones hating you!!!;):p:D

Btw, even at core 1.5mps, the dts ma sounds awesome.
Yes, I've noticed that DTS-core sounds great when I had my Panny DMP-BD10A.

To be honest, I don't know if I can tell the difference even between DTS-Core and TrueHD or LPCM.

I may not be able to tell the difference between DTS-Core & DTS-MA either.

But I just gotta have DTS-MA.:D

I'm still think the PS3 is awesome for being so powerful and versatile. I'm sure when profile 4.0:D comes around, you can just download the firmware and you are set.!

I don't know, the PS3 is still a pretty badass machine, not that the Denon isn't going to be nice, but I have a feeling it's probably not going to be worth $2000, chances are it still won't load as fast as the PS3, and it won't have wireless, or a hard drive, or play video games, or surf the net, etc...
It's probably not worth $2K.

It probably doesn't sound or look any better than the PS3.

It was made for people who just gotta have a "purist" player -- people who just gotta have that SOURCE DIRECT mode to bypass all speaker and bass management and have all channels set to full bandwidth 20 Hz - 20 kHz + subwoofer.

I know. I know. I know what you guys are thinking, but you just don't want to say it.

I'm an idiot.:D:D

Do you have a PS3? You could set up so DBT's for us and find out. :D

Does that Denon play SACD and DVD-A? I can't afford it, but I'd love to hear all about it once you actually get it. It may be a good investment, if Denon gets bought out by Monster, I bet that $2000 player becomes $4000. :)

No, I sold my PS3 to my younger brother.

My Denon DVD-5910CI plays SACD & DVD-A, but the DVD-3800BDCI only plays BD/DVD/CD (among others), but not SACD or DVD-A.

That would be very funny if all the current or old Denons jumped in value!:D

Yeah, I'll get some new pics (5910CI & 3800BDCI) up and give my short review once I get my hands on the 3800BDCI.

I truly believe that we buy things for more than just performance. Aesthetics and Pride of Ownership are huge factors.

Let's face it, if we were billionaires, we would be begging Mark Levinson to make a $20,000 blu-ray player to match that $20,000 SACD/DVD-A player.:D
