First, I want to apologize to rnatalli for having fun messing around on your thread. I also apologize to Mr. Jonhd for ticking him off about my moronic advice on what to do if you have a tailgater behind you. I really don’t do that stupid stunt. I value my health also. I just post that as WARNING to tailgaters. I hate tailgaters also…
But….
I used to tailgate too when during my younger years. Like other posters here that I also hate those drivers staying on the fast lane driving a lot slower than the flow of traffic. I don’t do that anymore thinking I might be victimize by car accident fraud. The car in front of you driving too slow might be a trap. There are crime syndicates that do insurance fraud that will victimize you. They will slam on their brake and if you rear end them they will file bogus damages on their car and medical claims. They are experts on this stunts. Doctors, lawyers and auto body shops are part of the ring. Even witnesses. Even just an individual, not even a member of any crime syndicate do this. They have a junky car and looking for easy money and they look on their rear view mirror that a high end car that for sure are fully covered by insurance and its tailgating and in a hurry. SLAM on the brake…BOOM. Witnesses most of the time doesn’t bother to stop, they are all in a hurry just like everybody, about to get late for work or going home. Now the victim (the tailgater) is the one going to end up of being a MORON. And the one who slam the brake is a happy camper with all the $$$. There is a lot of this accident fraud here in Cali. That is why our insurance premium are one of the highest in the country. We, the consumers are the one who are paying the cost on this fraud.

So BEWARE. Don’t tailgate. Leave a 3 seconds or more distance to the car in front of you so you will have time to react to whatever stupid move that car will make. I learned from that 3 seconds rule the hard way.

Drive safely.

Bravissisimo!!! ;) Can I put that on my sig?

No need to apologize to me. We didn't get off the tailgater track and start talking about politics. There are sick people out there who look to intentionally pull all kinds of crap. And of course, people can be plain stupid. I once had a woman pull in front of me, slam her brakes, and while doing so, she was looking in her mirror the entire time. I had more than enough room to stop which I did and then gave her the no-no with my index finger. Just like the T-1000 in Terminator 2 :)

Absolutely Tarub. Provided ;) we agree to besmirch each other and argue (for a higher purpose...the truth) in a civil manner, and start fresh, anew, the following day! Peace, John

I'm training a pteradactyl to carry and drop the boulders from 500 feet in the air, after dropping he glides into my self closing trunk.

Might be easier to train it to feed on that tailgater:D

I hate it when people equate going the speed limit with going slow. It is actually the maximum speed. If someone wants to go over, that is their prerogative, but they shouldn't expect me to go out of my way to make it eaier for them.
You can hate it all you want. One thing I know about driving in and out of Boston during rush hour is that if you are doing the maximum speed limit you are going beyond slow. 9 times out of 10 you would be the slowest.

To me speeding might be illegal but not going with the flow is a sin and during rush hour I've only ever seen a handful of people pulled over in 7 years. Don't let the law stop you from doing the right thing. I speed for the greater good and so should you.

I thought of this thread as I was forced this evening to go 55-60 on a 65 mph freeway, for no particular reason. Pretty frustrating, but I don't get as excited about it as I used to. Either way, I'll never understand the reason to block the entire left lane in that way, especially, especially, especially if we're all going below the speed limit.
