Yup, but not the best ribs though, for that there's Uncle Toms Cabin on SW 8th street near Lejeune accross from the Chevy dealer and the best one, waaaaaay out West on Tamiami Trail (8th street) near Krome, just a dive on the side of the road, they serve up the best ribs and pulled pork sandwich you'll eat down here. Yum.Hey, any of you South Florida/Dade/Miami guys ever eat at Shorty's barbecue? I mean the original Shorty's on US 1, heading down towards Kendall, near Dadeland.
For some reason I just thought of that - every time I'm in Miami, I have to stop by there once or twice. Mmmmm....![]()
My family is still divided among which is best. My grandmother lived about 1 block away from Uncle Tom's, across the street and over by the Navarro store - we used to walk over there and grub. Shorty's has kind of taken a fall lately - last time I was there, the quality seemed to have gone down a bit, but it's a family tradition of ours, so I'm still a loyal fan, and their home-brewed sauce is the best around (served warm in those parmesan cheese dispensers). Not to mention the corn on the cob served at the temperature of hot magma, in its own little butter coffin. Dump some salt on that and chow down!Yup, but not the best ribs though, for that there's Uncle Toms Cabin on SW 8th street near Lejeune accross from the Chevy dealer and the best one, waaaaaay out West on Tamiami Trail (8th street) near Krome, just a dive on the side of the road, they serve up the best ribs and pulled pork sandwich you'll eat down here. Didn't even know there was more than one unless they moved over the last decade. The Pink Pussycat is right by Miami Jai-Alai near MIA on NW 36th street. That things been there forever.
Only one.On nw 36st just east of where okeechobee meets nw n.river drive.Actually the front door faces nw 36st and the rear of the bldg. is on nw n river dr.Didn't even know there was more than one unless they moved over the last decade.
Actually rather go to the CarettaShorty's barbecue? Uncle Toms Cabin? Pulled Pork sandwiches? What do we have a bunch of red-necks down there?![]()
I always liked Tom's Place on Federal Hwy in Boca.Right. Shorty's hasn't been quite what it use to be for a while, my father in law (a big rib chow hound) says the ribs now are too greasy.
I'm 100% sure I went to a Pink Pussy Cat in Fort Lauderdale, but like I said, it was over 10 years ago.Only one.
There's a pink pussycat or was in New York and in Lauderdale years ago, late 70s maybe. I don't know about the one in Lauderdale still being there, but the one in Miami is. Crazy Horse? Not sure if that's still around.I'm 100% sure I went to a Pink Pussy Cat in Fort Lauderdale, but like I said, it was over 10 years ago.
Is there a Crazy Horse in Pompano anymore?
Man I miss FL![]()
