why black CDs used to copy sound better

Another audiophile myth. File this one right next to green magic markers.

I always use black CD blanks, have been for years just because I like them and they do seem to scratch a little less. They do not however sound ONE BIT DIFFERENT.

It has to be true. It is a "white paper" and it is published on the internet.

I'm thinking its easier to become a warlock than it is an audiophile :D

Depends on the individual. If you are susceptible to the power of suggestion and it is easy for you to avoid skepticism then it is easy to become audiophile. If not, it is nearly impossible.

I've got some white paper for ya.

It comes in a roll about 4" long and separates into squares. It's facial quality, too. :D

:) I was going to say something similar, but I don't think anyone is questioning this here. Bits is bits.
No, just the way it looked written up that brought this bit of humor out :D

Need that at times, cannot be serious all the time.:p

I would have to agree with 3 db, the black cd's do seem to deal with rough handling better than all the others I've used. I've gone through more than 2,000 cdr's in the last 3 years, and the black discs I gave away to all my rowdy friends that only listen to music in their cars are still playing, the others are coasters now. As for sound quality, a cd is a cd of course....

I'm also guessing that the author of the article never burnt the same downloaded file twice in all of his "expirements". He probably started out with 128k's and ended with 172 average vbr's, but thats just a guess.
