The Problem with Transformers HD DVD...
...is that most of the bass in the soundtrack are BELOW 20Hz. I think.
My BP7000SCs can easily dish out tremendous deep powerful bass from 20Hz-30Hz with both woofers tied behind their backs.
However, they cannot crank out those Extra Deep Subsonic Bass Below 20Hz with much authority.
So now I finally understand why you guys say that the Built-in SuperCube Reference subs in the BP7000SCs CANNOT substitute for a Dedicated Powerful (Subsonic) Subwoofer.
My first movie to audition the Trinity with was, of course, Transformers HD.
WOW!
All those Subsonic bass that I could hear hear before!
The action scenes now makes sense.
When the helicopter Decepticon blasted the military bass to kingdom come in the opening scenes, I could now hear all those Low Bass Laser Blasts. When the exploding tanks landed, I could now hear the big THUMP.
The second DVD (SD & DD 5.1) I watched was Fox's "24" show Season 2 Disc 2 w/Kefer Sutherland. WOW. Some scenes had very deep powerful bass. They made very good usage of the surround speakers - background dialogue, telephone ringing, and a million ambient sounds & panning effects like the jets flying by, which had some serious subsonic sounds.
Now I know why I need the Trinity.
And now my wife hates my HT room even more.
She makes me turn off the Trinity completely when she is watching action movies with me! So now I must find those quieter movies to watch with her so that I don't have to turn off my Trinity.
