"Big LOSS"??! LOL, you didn't watch the game, did you?

Oh, and I did see the OSU-Washington game. They gave OSU fits too, until the injuries hit. ;)

Naw, I was razzing you because this year's Buckeyes are not up to the level of many of the teams of the recent past. Equality is hitting college ball in a big way. The limitations of scholarships will prevent the old powerhouses like OSU, USC, etc. from warehousing talent.

How about a little wager on which team finishes with a higher ranking....Ducks or B-eyes? :D (You'll have to give odds of course because of the current situation.)
There's nothing wrong with a little smack talk. How about that overrated Cal team spitting the bit against Oregon St.?? HeHeHe.... The Ducks loss to Cal keeps looking uglier & uglier!! It's really too bad the Ducks gave that one away. USC looked really impressive again today against a bad Arizona team:rolleyes:

I dunno...... that would be a risky bet on your part considering the Buckeyes typically finished ranked higher than Oregon 9 out of every 10 years. The Bucks also have the best defense in the land, and they're worthy of their "soon to be" #1 BCS ranking when the rankings are released tomorrow.

There is still a lot of football to play and I'm not predicting another 12-0 season because we still have to play @ Happy Valley at night (the site of OSU's last regular season loss waaay back in 2005...25 games ago) and @ Michigan. Plus....considering all the upsets this year.......we still have ILL, Michigan State, & Wisconsin on the schedule, and they're all good enough to be capable of pulling off an upset.

How about those #1 Buckeyes....again!!! I'll just keep on enjoying the ride for as long as it will last:cool:

Next week, OSU hosts Michigan State. (the team who upset the buckeyes in 1998 to knock them off their #1 ranking....and end their title hopes) That was back in the day when a single loss did you in if you were in the BigTen.

Okay, B_E Nut....

Your boys at OSU have navigated the dangerous waters of Youngstown State and Akron. Good luck and be careful with Kent State (I understand armed state troopers might be on hand ;)). That's an awesome schedule. :D
Hey c'mon....those teams are a big step up in competition compared to our game against Washington. LOL When Washington was scheduled, they were still a national powerhouse....it's not our fault the turned into a typical pac10 team.;)

I personally think the team deserves a breather considering the tough OOC games OSU usually does schedule on a regular basis. We've got a home/home with the Trojans the next two years.

Wow, just noticed that my alma mater Illinois is actually ranked this year (clearly, I don't follow them that much). Few and far between, that's for sure (my reason for not following them that much). They lost to Iowa this weekend, but I can live with that - all of my family is from there except for me.
Zook has really made a lot of progress with that team. He's recruiting better players, and they're really earning a lot of respect.

This years OSU team is less talented than that team.
I don't know if I'd go quite that far. The 2007 defense is playing much better, and the offense is scoring more points. I think you could make an argument for the opposite.

Yes...they lost some high profile players to the NFL, but the same can be said about any OSU team.

Arizona State should be making a move into the top 10.
PAC10 is arguably the best conference right now.
LSU and CAL both lost.
Boston College and Ohio State are poised to make further movement in the top ten and USC looked weak, weak I tell you, against a poor U of A team.
Wisconsin and Illinois should be dropping out of the top 25 after their losses.

Who is the University of South Florida??????

Yessir. The Buckeyes looked like they beat those three high school teams with ease! LOL, clobbered Kent State did they? And OSU 20 - AKRON 2. Power house stuff. ;)

Oregon 53 - Washington State 7. Hmmm. Oregon 39 - Michigan 7. Hmmm.

Look for both Oregon and OSU in the top 5 tomorrow. Problem...my Ducks have now lost for the season their top two receivers, their top running back, and their top linebacker and defensive captain. Ugly injury bug hit big time. Still, the Oregon QB Dixon WILL win the Heisman...mark my words. :)

I can understand that you are a buckeye fan, until OSU beats a REAL team - I will give you your props. Your schedule coming up looks tough and I think you will lose AT LEAST 2 games. OSU will be number 1 this week - by default. Boston College, OSU, and USF all have tough schedules coming up. I hate to say it - by I think LSU/Cal/Oregon will end up in the top three. My USC has offensive line problems, and 2 of the 3 starting linebackers are hurt. Did I mention JD Booty is Booty? Mustain should start next year, too bad cuz we need him this year.

#17 Kentucky beating #1 LSU

It just feels weird. Good, but weird. I've always been a Kentucky fan, born into a family of Kentucky fans, and we've had several years where we had the best basketball team, but never have I experienced being proud of our football team like this! It's just weird. Hey after three decades of watching them lose, it's refreshing!!! I just hope it's enough to turn the program into one that can maintain a descent team with descent recruiting. My professional football team has always been the Miami Dolphins too, so I have to celebrate football happiness whenever I can!!! Go Big Blue!!!

Rich Brooks is Oregon's gift to Kentucky! Enjoy. ;)

"The Gators are part of a preposterous pileup atop the SEC East -- and if the nationwide epidemic of upset losses continues, two-loss Florida would love a shot at a title defense.

Stranger things have not happened, at least not since 1960. That's the last time a two-loss team claimed any share of a national title, when Minnesota was crowned No. 1 by the AP before the bowl games were played -- then the Gophers were beaten by Washington in the Rose Bowl.

That also was the only other time Notre Dame started a season 1-7. So we could officially be in the midst of the weirdest season in 47 years.

And in no place is it weirder than the Bloody South. All the SEC's unbeatens were cleared out by nightfall on Oct. 13. By nightfall on Oct. 20, LSU was the only one-loss team remaining in the conference.

Vanderbilt upset South Carolina 17-6 in Columbia. You read that right: The Commodores, who never had beaten a Steve Spurrier team, held the HBC to six points. Then Florida outscored Kentucky 45-37 in Lexington, with Tebow out-Heisman-ing Andre' Woodson in a splendid quarterbacking duel." - ESPN

OH HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN - but guess who's still undefeated...Thee Ohio State University!!!

GO DUCKS!!!!

Congrats on the big win! Looks like the SEC is up for grabs as well. My Clemson Tigers didn't play to badly today, either. Now, if only JoPa can turn it around in the second half;)

Another crazy day in college football. My Buckeyes won in solid fashion, but to my surprise USC, VA Tech, Kentucky, Florida, South Florida, and S. Carolina all took a dump.

Todd Boeckman, OSU's QB is really coming on strong as the season progresses. At 6'5 248lbs, he probably should have been the starter in front of Troy Smith.

They looked okay. It will be interesting to see how they perform when they finally play a real team. :p

USC didn't "take a dump". They were the underdogs, btw. They were beaten by the best team in college football (listen to Dukester!)...even with 1/2 of Oregon's starting offensive skill people hurt and out for the season. ;)

The ducks should be proud of eeking out a win over a team that lost to Stanford.

LOL.....USC shouldn't even be ranked:)

With that said, I saw the highlights and the Ducks looked pretty good....albeit against a weak opponent.

Go State! Should be another good weekend next week when Arizona State takes on Oregon...
They made Cal look foolish in the second half.
USC is surviving on reputation.

Oregon played well, but I'm looking at who they beat, and that list includes Houston, Fresno State, Stanford, Washington State, and Washington. (Mirror the Buckeyes?)

Cal and Michigan haven't exactly lit the world on fire. Cal lost its last three games to Oregon State, UCLA, and Arizona State, and Michigan had the worst loss of the season against Appalachian State.

I will give credit to Michigan though (Big Ten ;)) as they're slowly turning around their season.

As for LSU, I can't stop thinking about them being beat by Kentucky, who got beat up by Mississippi State yesterday.

The Arizona State/Oregon game next week will be a barn burner.

LOL, next year Oregon will have to upgrade their schedule to include Akron, Kent State, and that powerhouse, Youngstown State! ;) (BTW, OU has the 6th toughest schedule in the nation this year. Doesn't exactly mirror OSU I guess. :p)

But you are correct. Next week should be a great game. ASU's defense is really good and on a par with USC's. But this Oregon offensive juggernaut is only stopped by itself. Have you actually watched an entire OU game this year, BEF1? Dennis Dixon...oh my. Does Vince Young ring a bell?

OSU looked much better beating Penn St. than they have in earlier games I've watched. It looks like the offense is coming of age and they have huge potential upside. I put them right up there with ASU...unbeaten and untested. Love to meet you in January. But LSU might have other plans. They are still the team to beat for the National Championship, me thinks.
