TrueHD won't fit on HD DVD

I will be picking up Pan's Labyrinth for sure (BD). Hey, maybe we can take those mini reviews over to the movies area and discuss them separate from this thread? I have comments on quite a few of those BDs.

You pre-ordered that one yet?
Yeah, there are about 10 movies I have (in HD) that are not on the list.
Including a few doubles I ended up with (example, 2 Terminators, and 2 DVE HDs)
(also not on the list is another set of 5 free movies I have yet to send in)(those extra 5 are BDs by chance)

I am seriously considering Pan's Lab., but really had wished they would have added at least a 2.0 English track.
Granted, I more than likely WILL get it for the 7.1 track.
It was a superb movie, I do have the SD version.;)

I bought the 2 disc SE of Pan's Labyrinth before they announced the BD would be released in the US. I also saw it in the theater :)

Overall the audio on Blu-ray is reviewed consistently higher than HD DVD.

That's around 1,000 Blu-ray reviews and 1,000 HD DVD reviews compared.
Blu-ray has over three times as many releases with lossless audio tracks and perhaps that could have something to do with it.

Multilayer discs exist now (10 layers? 150G), but what I read was that it is the players that can't handle them so media isn't the issue. I believe that physical media will ultimately go away so the discs will not be the limitation.
Hitachi have announced a 100GB Blu-ray disc that will only need a firmware upgrade to work in all existing Blu-ray players, unlike the 100 and 200GB Blu-ray discs from TDK and Panasonic that would be for PC usage only as they would require a different configuration.

It's really hard to compare even the same movie because people are using two totally different HD machines. How do you know if the BD players themselves (hardware) are just outperforming the HDDVD players? Now with the new upcoming Samsung BD-UP5000 Combo Reference player, it will be a better comparison between just the movies (software).
